Before i go through the potential fun and games of 'have you turned it on, have you pressed the home button, have you got a pan on it' type questions when i phone neff i wondered if anyone on here may know whats wrong with the hob.

Its a new model so info is non existent
http://www.neff-home.com/uk/productlist/hobs/induc...

All turns on ok but the left 2 zones and the middle zone don't seem to work at all. It has a little tft display which shows a red bar which seems to get stuck at about 30% with no heat being produced.
The right two zones work perfectly with an audible noise when switched on, fast heat and the flex zone and heating features all work effortlessly.

I can't seem to find a setting which would stop the others from working but maybe I'm missing something. Its not overloaded or anything like that as even a frying pan on the lowest setting doesn't come on. All correct cookware as well.

Along with a new washing machine which doesn't work I'm starting to wonder if someone is remotely winding me up hehe

How about “have you put the links in the terminal box?”.

Without these links being fitted, only part of the hob will have power. It shows the installer where these need to be fitted in the installation instructions.

Ahh, very valid, especially after i just re checked the instructions and have seen what looks like a link between terminals! Stupid yes hehe

What should i use as a link? I don't seem to have anything from the factory packaging. Although an electrician has opened it all and done the main connection, my uncle opened it to check all ok, i then did the live etc so a few people have had their mitts in the box.

I do have another piece of cable which was for european connection so can i just strip a piece of that?

The links are flat metal U shaped, approx 2cm across and are supplied with the hob. They are usually stored in a slot in the terminel box. Look out for them being stored end on, so you would only see several thin strips. Hope you find them.

If you can't find the parts you need phone 0844 892 8979 (Appliance Care) they do spares and servicing for Neff/Bosch & Siemens. You'll need the E-nr. and FD number off the hob to identify it. They can probably point you in the right direction if it still isn't working correctly. We sell loads of induction hobs and it is rare for them to be faulty out of the box although not unknown.

All sorted now! thanks for the advice. Links were found in the terminal box and itself working.

No silly phone calls and hopefully no more silly mistakes on my behalf hehe
