My Octopus fixed price deal ends tomorrow and I'll go onto their variable rate, so I need to switch over to another provider tonight.

Who’s still on Agile? Just about cheaper than Go still
You can’t switch between them as easily as you used to - there’s a 30 day cooling off period now AFAIK.

Bit rough on Agile this week but that’s how it goes I suppose!

Christ! Averaging ~10kWh per day - highest single day in last month was 16, and that's with charging a PHEV three times a week.

If you can, stay on Go for now until at least February if you are thinking of going onto Agile.

the only thing that's not to like is if you haven't got a SMETS2 meter and need one for a smart tariff (like me), you'll be waiting ages!
That isn't true for everyone, a lot of people get their SMETS 2 within weeks, even during Covid.

So pulling the actual data from the meter:

I've been on Agile 74 days, used 3106Kwh - which is an average of 41Kwh a Day.
Flat rate at 15p would of cost £466, with Agile it cost me £321 - which is a £144 / 31% saving.
or £4.35 per day v £6.30

Electric oven and Induction hob - which averages about 5kwh in the expensive peak rate, but as you can see i'm still showing a saving - because tumble drier and hot tub etc are not used in the peak.

whilst I'm sure that's the case for a lucky few, it rather feels like they are the minority, there are threads all over various internet forums and even Octopus's own twitter feed is full of people moaning about how long these meter roll outs are taking.

It's the internet. People complain a lot more than they praise.

To be fair to Octopus... I moaned a little about the delay with our SMETS2 meter and they worked out a 'should have been' cost and credited our account with about £130 so we were not disadvantaged.

My fixed rate Octopus deal has ended so I've just made the switch to Avro who appear as the cheapest from the searches.

There is a link somewhere on the last few pages of posts to sign up, a month or two ago if I recall.

Thanks Toaster. Opted for a tree instead, as don't really need a cuddly octopus.

About 5 minutes after reading this thread on Saturday lunch time guess what turned up...

I did try and get the pup to pose with it but she just wanted to destroy it!
