What's the marker in the hedge? Did they put the box in line with it for any reason?

It would look better with one very large cabinet with them all in rather than loads of little ones all over !

Unusual to see two DSLAM cabinets together - must be a lot of demand for fibre in that area. The new one is obviously to feed that demand.

I believe that its the first DSLAM cab thats in the wrong place - they should be far away from the original PCP (POTS connection Point) Cabinet so the doors cant touch (the PCP doesnt have power going to it, the others do) - something to do with earthing if the doors touch and there is a fault.

The placement will no doubt have something to do with underground services in the area - either other services are blocking other positions, or that position is the best for cost or convenience to BT especially as there is already a DSLAM there.

Is your house on the wonk? My ocd is going mental.

Roof different pitches.
Middle window not centre.
Porch not centre
That soil stack vent.
Cctv cameras pointing all over the shop.

I think you've got bigger things to break your heart wink

Could just be the angles and the house is in fact lovely.
I think that cream-coloured siding will put off more buyers than the green box up front hehe

There is what looks like a tree stump or circular drain between the old and new cabinets.

It is. If you go back to the 2000s on streetview there was a big mature tree there.

Its not that unusual to have 2 dslams , they only have a limited capacity dependant on the manufacturer, a dslam should be within 45m of the cabinet ( from memory) there is nothing wrong with the dslam being next to the cabinet as long as the earth bonding is in place ,

I know i keep going on but i have just checked our cctv. possibly illegally we have a camera on that front gate which just catches the area they have fitted the box on. You can clearly see the bloke setting out the box location. He just walk up, chucks the base down and starts. no measuring nothing, doesnt even look around himself.
Do you think he decided where to fit the box or fitted it where the plans told him to ?

Agreed ,but they don’t do cabinets like that , that cabinet must cover a large area , it already has 2 add ons (one either side) or g fast .ultra fast broadband , i’ve not seen one locally with 2 .

Usually there is a planning notice for stuff like that, BUT they get around it my putting a notice in the local rag (just after the obituaries), you know the one that goes straight into the recycling bin, because only the oldest of the NIMBYs every read that section of the paper.
I find it odd that it wasn't place in front of your neighbours hedge, perhaps they found out about it and complained?
