992 must have options

Thinking of rear wheel steer and sports exhaust as a ‘must have’ option.
Whatbare thoughts on these as don’t want to under spec but also don’t want to throw it away!
I ordered and specced mine today..I had RWS on my 991.2GTS and thought it benefitted from it and was all set on having it on my 992..That was until i noticed that when i added it on the configurator the MPG dropped from 28.5 to 28.2..This got me thinking that as it increases fuel use it must sap power(hydraulics) or/and add weight..I'm currently without it although this might change.Whatbare thoughts on these as don’t want to under spec but also don’t want to throw it away!
I have added PSE as i feel the 992 needs all the help it can get with regards noise. I was intending on going for a Cabriolet but as no build slots are yet available i stuck with the Coupe.
I went for RAS and lowered PASM as I've had them before and like them, didn't go for PSE as this will be a daily and I get enough 'noise' from the GT3/Boxster GTS
For the first time I've ticked the sunroof box...its the only item my OPC have ever suggested I should try
Mine leaves the factory in a couple of weeks so hopefully will arrive before the 29th!

Are you for real? Do you honestly think you will notice these kilos that are so affecting a 0.3mpg drop in fuel consumption on a fking tank of a 911?
Are you Michael Schumacher in disguise?

You have obviously got over excited and taken my post out of context !..To clarify matters i was merely referring to the Porsche 992 configurator.Under new WLTP regulations all new cars sold in the EU after Sept 1 2018 has to be tested for real world economy in all specifications including extra cost options. Are you for real? When i was configuring my new 992, ticking and unticking boxes for the sheer hell of it, i noticed that when i included RAS the official combined cycle always dropped by 0.3MPG..I'm not saying that i would notice this anomaly but FWIW it has a detrimental effect on efficiency.
This can be for just two reasons. Either added weight or increased parasitic losses from the hydraulic pumps sucking power from the engine..A little bit like an AC pump having the same effect..It surprised me that something as seemingly innocuous as RAS could cause this. Most probably a combination of the two IMO.
I own a 911GT3.2, 991.2GTS and a Panamera Turbo Hybrid all fitted with RAS and chosen by me as i think it transforms these cars on track however i've dropped it on my 992 order.
May i suggest you buy incontinence pants to avoid any further embarrassing episodes.!

Out of interest, if I may. What is it about the 992 S that makes you want to change the (add to the) 991.2 GTS?
So he can get the next best thing.... JOKE Taffy...!Having had a 991.2 GTS it really is going to be a hard task bettering it. I am changing solely due to feeling the 991 a slight bit dated now interior wise, however i have had a fair few so that may be me just becoming accustomed to the 991 overly.

I no longer have my 991.2GTS as i sold it when i picked up my new GT3..With regards to the 992 i was initially sceptical however after reading some glowing reviews from H catchpole, JWW, M Prior and CH it got me interested.I always buy new gen 911s from my OPC to keep the relationship going and help my cause to get the special ones.I also enjoy having spells in new normal 911s to set a bar to judge how each gen compares to previous GT Porsches..From what i've read, the 992's platform really moves the game on and potentially solves my main gripes with the 991s..I didn't like the 991.2 at all unless it was fitted with RAS.However with the 992's much wider front track and engine mounts moved 20cm more forward it sounds like RAS might not be a 'must have' and more of a 'nice to have'.
Its the Manual 400PS Coupe version i'd like to know more about and if launched soon i'll switch my order.
ETA Just read Cormeist's post and TBF he's absolutely spot on and more to the point than my rather long winded response..It is what it is..!

Thanks for that. I'm not in a position to become a serial buyer, with 2 little ones being my main priority, but I would consider changing to a 991.2GTS or a manual 992. The styling cues for the 992 are not necessarily to my taste, so I'll wait to see it in the flesh. I always thought other Porsche models should take their design influence from the 911, but it now seems the other way around and I'm not convinced that I want a baby pamamera. When I see it though, I'll be open minded enough to be potentially convinced otherwise though. NI think the rear engine mounts are more like 2 cm forward. 20cm would be an awful lot!
Despite him being from the other side of the Atlantic I like Motoman TV as a YouTube channel....less prone to hyperbole and more facts. This is a good vid on the tech of the 992, he does mention something about the engine mounts.

I though the dimensions were the same as a 991.2 GTS anyway, and that would mean it hasn’t got a wider front track, and as has been pointed out, the 20cm thing was a misquote by one of the journalists, it’s 2cm.I also enjoy having spells in new normal 911s to set a bar to judge how each gen compares to previous GT Porsches..From what i've read, the 992's platform really moves the game on and potentially solves my main gripes with the 991s..I didn't like the 991.2 at all unless it was fitted with RAS.However with the 992's much wider front track and engine mounts moved 20cm more forward it sounds like RAS might not be a 'must have' and more of a 'nice to have'.

So if you say RWS transforms the GTS (I agree, I have one with it), why would it not the 992?

I’ve got a new Macan on loan which has the widescreen TV....seems bloody huge in a car of that size! Even my 10 yr old son who is obviously prone to being impressed by these things thought it looked too big. He’s definitely started to take an interest in things automotive...he was sat in my wife’s 718 Boxster for a couple of minutes with the engine running....asked me if there was something wrong with the engine “as it sounds broken”
