Thank you.

Do they not do Smart Meters and do readings this way?

I'm happy with them, been with them about 18 months, 4 bedroom semi, 5 people living at home, now £110 in credit, Including £50 referral, they took no payment in January, paying £35 a month. Was with Npower paying quarterly, about £800 a year

As the OP to the "original" Bulb thread on PH, been with them for over two years.

I like their website, very easy to navigate, even a five year old could do it.

No plans to change but penalty free if I decided to.

Bulb user for the past 18 months. No issues at all. They replaced my old meter as it was hard to read for free.

Good customer service whenever I have needed them. I send them monthly readings manually. No thoughts on swapping.

+1 for the Smart Meters - so much easier.

Plus tweaking the DDs via the app - never had a problem doing this.

They started rolling them out last year and had massive issues with them.

Fair.

We must be getting on for 20 months by now, very happy. There was a window when Octopus' cheapest rate (not the greener one) saved us about £100/year (about 6%) and was fixed for 12months, however on their recent check they prices have gone up and they can only match not exceed our current tarifs.

You should always compare the unit rates - not the bs yearly projected savings

This.

The only quote which matters is calculating the actual cost, using actually historical usage figures, and the actual rates.

They bribed everyone with £50 to start with, losing £12m in the process. At some point they need to recover those costs and make a profit. Where did you think that money was going to come from if not the customers?

As I said in another thread, there are fixed offerings from all the other energy companies which are cheaper than Bulb now.

Guess it’s a postcode/regional thing.

How much ??!!

Mine is 10600, that's a quarter of yours. Are you heating the whole terrace ?

My electric is 2900, almost half of yours.

For comparison, 3 bed detached, 25 years old. Gas boiler replaced about 6 or 7 years ago. Cavity wall insulation, loads of loft insulation, new uPVC double glazing everything done around 4 years ago.

same here... been using Bulb for over 18 months and they have sent me a message saying the charge per unit is going down...

The key points in the email are the unit rates...

Gas prices are down from 3.500p to 2.795p per kWh. standing charge the same.

Electricity costs have increased from 13.713p to 14.198p per kWh. standing charge up from 20.444p to 22.532p per day. These numbers all include VAT.

So, as said above, look at your actual usage and apply the changes above to see your own savings.
