Options You Wish You'd Specced
Discussion
We've all owned cars and wished we'd specced that one option that we didn't. For me, it was a Mk1 Fabia vRS that I should have ticked the box for heated seats on - that car took about 15 miles to warm up in winter and I started work early in the morning!
What do you wish you'd specced (and why) on your cars, past or present?

I spent a long long time agonising over the options on my 3 series and a year later I think I got it spot on. Main things I really wanted and ticked were active cruise/heated seats/folding mirrors/H&K audio/M Sport brakes/HBA/Pro Nav.
The only thing I sometimes think I maybe should have added is car play but I can add that whenever. I think the TV might have been a cool option too but in reality I only sit in the car for any length when on the shuttle to france and I can still watch DVDs on the screen anyway.
I had a Fabia vRS back in the day, by the time I bought it, it was 5 years old but I spent a fortune retrofitting the Sat Nav into it, I always wished I had the maxi dot dash to go with it.

I didn’t realise that my 2016 BMW 235i didn’t come with cruise control as standard...every BMW I’ve had since about 1998 came with it. So that was a constant regret, until I had it retrofitted last year
With hindsight I should probably also have ordered a space saver spare for the MINI Clubman; it was only £100, and as I’m taking the car to France next month I might regret not. Finding a runflat 19” tyre at short notice could be an issue

Auto folding mirrors on my 4 series, which would have also meant the glass moves down when I stick it in reverse.. would've helped a lot when parallel parking to prevent curbing my wheels on a few occasions!
If you leave the adjuster button always switched to the left mirror, it is a simple job to just press the down button.Panoramic sunroof, I insisted on it but OH said no, they are so good, let light into the cabin on the dullest days and great to have open in the nice weather
Especially now we have a Audi with a black interior it’s just a bit dull, loved the one in my leon, had it open as much as I could, especially in the winter on a crisp day, open it with the heated seats on
I always say the 3 must things are LED headlights, upgraded stereo ( I like my bass) and The pan roof
If they are all standard then I like to have heated seats and ACC

Same with my 2017 M140i. Came in a pack with parking sensors which I also wanted, and keyless entry, which I didn’t, for security reasons. The cost of all 3 as a factory fit pack was only a few hundred quid.Nickbrapp said:

I've bought my last 5 cars s/h and all but the present one had a glass sunroof. All the company cars I had before that had one as did the last one I bought privately before that. So basically I had a sunroof continuously for 28 years from 1989 to 2017. I still miss having one.

My 11 year old Lexus did this as standard, surprised a 4 series would not do that PSRG said:
Though there is a certainty irony for me; I’d originally ordered a 330e, but changed at the last minute to an M235i
Weird how BMW mess with spec though - I wouldn't have expected an M235i to come without cruise!
But they've done it before! Both my E46 3 Series had it as standard, but on all E85/86 Z4s it was an option - even on the M models.
