The minis have always had just enough drama to entertain the casual race goer and at the same time keep us die hard old fogeys entertained .
Lets face it most of the public go to BTCC races for the thrills and spills and argey bargey .
As for the chicane , it's been there for years . It's strange that certain forms of racing have to have circuit changes because of their poor driving standards .

The problem is that most of the racing isn't that interesting to the casual viewer. It can be, at times, but it often isn't. The minis are hilarious, like karts, you can use any line you want. Slightly worrying that the touring cars are affected by dirty air, there must be ways of mitigating this. I think the promoter/ itv4 is missing a trick by not showing the minis on tv more. Today they showed up the other series for what they are, a lot of fake talking up, hype, but very little on track action. Including I have to say, very slow recovery of cars involved in incidents. While we are on the subject, the porsche supercup is boring, I want to like it but the racing is well, just sterile. I've driven Thuxton but never spectated there. To be honest, despite it being the "fastest" circuit, it is a bit dull as there are no real corners, it's more curves until the last section so I can see why people think it's dull on TV. I caught the first race today on ITV4 and will watch the rest later.
I must admit, I am still a little puzzled why they're going to Thruxton twice.
