...after you've used it? I'm not sure 'doesnt help save time' would be sufficient grounds for returning it. Or have I misunderstood you?

Eufy 30C purchased July 2019.

Similar price paid, and it has been the best, most efficient time saving and useful device this household has ever had. Runs 90 minutes per day, 7 days per week.

I bought one in an Amazon fire sale a month ago but have kept it under wraps until I could see that there were no better BF deals available. That doesn't appear to have happened so I might now release the beast. With the recent passing of our cat I think I'm going to get quite attached to the little fella. (No sniggering about vacuum-related A&E jokes at the back please)

Just if it's rubbish / gets stuck on rug etc etc.

Everyone seems to like it but sure it'll be fine. Bought a solar Ring doorbell charger and even with bright bright sunlight facing the sun it wouldn't charge the doorbell so that went back to Amazon....

I was trying to keep busy during the first lock down and made a video of the Eufy 30 model, I own two of them and wouldn't be without a robot cleaner now, you really need to run them everyday to get the maximum benefit out of them.

Great video! (I hope you don't mind me keeping my voice down whilst saying that about a YouTube video about a vacuum cleaner)

Given the random movement pattern of this model I am curious as to how it finds it's way home? Is there some sort of homing arrangement (eg a beacon (IR emitter?) of some sort on the base station) that it homes in on?

My Eufy 11 is random too (it's going right now, as another poster said about "Count Vacular", it prefers night). I think it might use RF or something, as once the battery is going dead it heads home and it will keep searching till either it finds it or goes completely dead (say if the home base station is unplugged).

Thank you, filming a video killed some time during lock down was quite fun although the video is about a hoover rolleyes

The docking station has a 180 degrees IR receiver, when the robot locks on to the docking station it navigates its way home.

When I fist bought mine I decided that I would use my conventional upright hoover first to clean the downstairs and then set the robot off after, I was amazed at the amount of crap it collected considering I tried to be as thorough as possible with the upright Dyson, now I hardly ever use the Dyson.

Our Neato was absolutely brilliant, far better at cleaning and much more efficient than the random bump about robot we have, but is quite delicate in use - needed two LIDAR motors, two side brush drive belts, two sets of drive wheels and one bin clip in three years - not too bad to repair DIY but parts are tricky to find. don’t expect much once it’s out of warranty

I’m now looking at these for Black Friday, can see Amazon have a few on today but am sure the offers will be repeated.

So for a large downstairs that’s got 3 reception rooms as well as large hallway, kitchen and utility I’m thinking one with laser mapping will likely work better than the random ones.

Here’s our floorplan:

And to give an idea of size:

Any recommendations on here from personal experience? What features do I need to look out for?

my opinion is that you are over thinking it.

A boggo bouncing around type going out daily doing its thing will keep on top of it. We have the Eufy 30C
I'm sure I could have a fancier one, but not sure it is needed.

Anyone using the Eufy 30c Max? It's got 2000pa vs 1000pa of the normal one, but is obviously a lot more (And sold out on the official site)

Was wondering if it's worth the extra? We've a Lab and would be good to not have to hoover everyday.

I bought a 30C and found it to be great.

My Mum has 3 dogs, so lots of fine hairs in the carpet. She went for the 30C max for that reason, and it works really well.

It's essentially just the 30C with a bit more juice.

She bought it on Amazon recently and there was not much difference at all in price, however if I had pets I'd be getting the Max just because.

I just had a look on Amazon and there's £100 difference between them at the moment - £319 vs £219. Is it worth the extra £100!?

Looking at the 15C Max, it seems like it does all the same stuff with the same power as the 30C Max, but without the magnetic edge protection.

And £140 cheaper with the £90 off they are offering..

I'm not sure at £100 extra. The 30C Max was £230 and the regular was £210 ish, seems to have changed.

I tried my regular 30C on the floor at my Mums and it does still pick up an awful lot, so I'd just go with that.

Because you can/will use them so much more often, eventually they'll just get the level of hairs etc down to next to nothing. Poor thing is always going hehe

Good point, apart from a bit of leccy to recharge it, it doesn't take me any more effort if it needs to do 2 passes! hehe

Although I am leaning towards the 15C Max now, unless there's a obvious issue I'm missing - don't think I need the edge strips really that come with the 30C range.
