They'll probably steer you toward a JCT contract too.

A JCT is by no means a guarantee of success, but it sure minimises risk.

If you search UK forums for "builder, left site, overpaid, no contact, building control, issues" you will see there's a whole load of the population who hand over life savings at the drop of a hat. (and that's the ones who are brave enough to post online...)

You joke, but I saw that sketch as a child and it's still how I think of quantity surveyors.

You'll have to get the Q.S to leave his nice warm dry office for that to happen, good luck with that! wink
