It seems to be just a supply fan with a duct to a ceiling grille for £400, so doesn't this do the same thing but for not £400..?

https://www.amazon.co.uk/OOPPEN-Efficiency-Extract...

Obviously plumb it so it's supplying not extracting..
+1.

Is the increase around £50? To coincide with a special offer, perhaps?

Guys

I’ve been chasing and got nothing. I’m sorry, but don’t want you all pissed off with me, so If you need one go buy one (or indeed others brands if you wish) for whatever deal you can get now.

The deal was meant to be £50 cheaper than you can get it anywhere. I didn’t know the price was going up on 1st December, so you could hang on just to get the same price. At which point you’d quite rightly be chasing after me with pitch forks.

When it eventually grinds its way through the bureaucracy I will post news ASAP.

No worries pal.

I've just bought the standard model from i-sells, so that'll be my job for the weekend.

Bit the bullet and ordered the Drimaster Eco Heat Positive Input Ventilation Unit With Integral 400W Heater By Nuaire from i-sells with the 4-way heater & boost control switch.

Hopefully will get it installed next week and hopefully see an improvement.....spent a long time researching so feeling confident that we will see an improvement!!

Decided to take the plunge before the impending price increase coming 1st December (as confirmed by i-sells who I bought it from).

You want to saw through plasterboard? You'll be wanting a plasterboard saw (though not great for precision).

Yep - got the Nuaire Drimaster DRI-ECO-4S Eco 4 Way Heater and Boost Control Switch: https://www.i-sells.co.uk/nuaire-drimaster-eco-4-w... to help control the unit rather than constantly monitoring/changing at the unit on the ceiling

Am I right in thinking I can wire it up to a plug, rather than hardwired into the supplied fused spur? My plan was to leave the settings on say 2, then plug it into a WiFi plug to come on at set times. That way I can control it from my phone without having to faff with the ceiling control.

It needs to be on all the time.

Manufacturer recommendation is to have it on all the time. I think someone else here (Shadylee?) had it wired like you said and switch off during day time.

Why turn it off?

Cooler drafts in winter, wife complained.

Also we found out main issue was when the heating knocked off at night-morning, also that in our house having it on a schedule still maintained the Rh level desired. I also have the Rh sensor.

There was some talk about the MK1 drimaster needing to be on 24/7 due to condensation forming on the PCB, but I think they/you guys sealed the eco to stop this happening.

Mines been on a WiFi timer for nearly 4 years now with no problems, here's my schedule that works.

It's to be noted that I also installed a "to outdoor" cooker hood, a massive inline mf100t shower fan and a dmev in the porch. Piv can do so much but it helps to address all sources I think.

Here's the RH and boost switches for a non heat model if anyone is interested, the Rh Ramps the fan up and down to reach the set humidity.

Exactly- ours has been running for years non stop. Makes no sense to have it on a timer
