Thanks for that. Fascinating reading; never heard of the house before.

Interesting sales pitch from the estate agent:

Amusingly cheesy, with a side order of fromage. I liked it.

I have no idea what the place is like but this is daft. 7k sq feet, a couple of acres and a 4 car garage. It was cheap at the opening price but it's now £141000.
Shows the difference between there and here.
Lord knows what a yank house hunting here must think.

There must be something wrong with the house or the area. Unsold in four years, and halved in price in that time.

Maybe because it's in an isolated town of less than 5000 people with a declining population in the arse end of nowhere. The sort of place Jack Reacher is often found rearranging faces in.

But like a lot of the less well known parts of America. Just a little bit small town / dull / crap

That's the main high street! eek

That's the town itself!

Absolutely the arse end of nowhere but fairly typical small town USA?
The fact that you can buy anything that cheaply is fairly staggering. I doubt it's a "bad" neighbourhood just terminally dull possibly.

It's less than 100 miles from Chicago. Only checked because I was hoping it would be 106.

Love that but how much?

Video shows a bit more.
Doesn’t show the cinema room for some reason or in pics.

The main road is a busy bottleneck and Farthinghoe was earmarked for a bypass over thirty years ago.

Nick Burnham did a video tour and I reckon its a pretty good bit of real estate pawn. Nick has a youtube channel under Aquaholic.

It's nice, but that's a lot of money, especially seeing that about half of the pics seem to have been taken on a potato.
Yep definitely location location. Any other place in the country and that'd be worth about 500K

What continues to amaze me is how uniform and straight all the roads are on their grid systems. No wonder they crash when they come to the first bend...

No need for bends, large tracts of middle America are flat as a pancake.
