This is very local to me, it's a lovely part of the world in general (IMO of course) and if you fancy having a place between the beach and a National Trust woodland in an AONB then you could do a lot worse than this....

You might get a bit of change from £1m as well....
That's a very appealing house. I like it a lot.
I like that a lot too. Could be happy there.

Not for sale, but "for hire" wink The Conrad Muraka in the Maldives, lower level bedroom for Mr Brasi to sleep with the fishes - https://www.conradmaldives.com/stay/the-muraka/ perfect for pervy scuba divers.
......and it's only 47,000 GBP a night but hey, if you've got it.....

Biz class flights from Male down to Singapore and Hong Kong are cheap if you want to go somewhere different for the weekend, plus, no extortionate sea plane transfers as boat thrown in. Would all inclusive be included if Diamond member I wonder....

Yes... either here or the 'nightmare' thread. A lot of money to live next door to a football stadium in the middle of an industrial park.

Spooky, I was only thinking about the BB house this morning.

They did a good job of rebuilding it after the explosion. smile

Or maybe a castle if that's your thing. Needs more cars in the underground garage.

I think we had the first one some time ago.

Looks like a money pit for the terminally bonkers.

Here's a clip of Johnny Vaughan revisiting the house:

Certainly an eccentric purchase as a private buyer!

I've always been fascinated with the Solent Forts, I used to sail past them regularly when I worked on the Portsmouth to Bilbao ferry. They have a very interesting history, somewhat impracticable considering one needs a chopper or boat to get there, but to the right person that would be part of the appeal. I guess if and when they sell, though, it will be to some kind of 'experience' company or to be continued as hotels.

A very precarious spa treat location?

As a private dwelling I can see few merits unless you’re certifiably insane. Yodel would have a legitimate excuse not to deliver and the news boy would need to be Duncan Goodhew.

But at least the Jehovah’s cannot bother you and the Gypsies wouldn’t ask to tarmac your drive.

You would want to buy a house with its own pontoon somewhere on the mainland coast of the Solent where you could keep a fast RIB (& a car)

Hadn't thought of that. That's a big plus point.

The Solent Forts are lovely (especially now they've had some proper investment) - but yes, no house.

Corp events (captive audience and controllable environment!), party weekends, weddings.

Reminds me of Sealand off the Essex/Suffolk coast. Sure I read somewhere that it is a principality in its own right so the owner can title themselves King or Queen of Sealand

Big bunch of Cali-Spanish mansions of various shapes and sizes on the Montecito coastline, love these types of places. Montecito is the place that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle disappeared to, at least better weather than the home counties right? laugh
