I like this one in Staffs, there’s a lot going on here. The gatehouse is fantastic.

It's a shame that the grand hall is on the first floor of the gatehouse because it would be a great space for a car collection. As it is there's just the triple open fronted car ports so it would require some ingenuity to create a decent size garage plus the potential planning constraints.

This is incredible and even though 100 times out of my price range, I reckon it's pretty good value too...

I like that a lot too. I know Brighton is a bit of a Marmite sort of place but that house has some real character and a great location. Even if there is a view of the pier on which I very nearly died a few years ago!

"and on-street permit parking"
How could any self respecting PHer even consider this acceptable.

Except you'd have to spend another small fortune on ripping out every single last piece of carpet, curtain and wall covering to make it less painful to look at.

I actually like it - that overblown style suits the property. Except the looted artefacts, which I would probably get rid of.

The Eagle surely isn't an actual Roman / Nazi article?

I was referring to the vaguely "Orientalist" stuff throughout. I always hate visiting houses where the owner tells you proudly that their great-x grandfather brought such and such a piece back with them from their "travels in the Far East" where the object in question should probably be in a local museum.

You need bigger ambitions. I mean, a garage is nice, but I wouldn't want to live in one.

Love the house. Shame Brighton is such an utter 'hole.

Yeah, surprisingly taken by that house although would struggle with the lack of private garden. Never liked Brighton though.

Doesn't the prom run almost exactly East to West? So this view is looking what, South-South-East? Just the direction I normally look for a good sunset.

Who doesn't like Brighton? Fun town, lots happening. Great countryside nearby. Links to London.

Loving the ingenuity of that EA with the fake 'sunset' shot!
