What a shame to put that hideous office staircase into such a beautiful building (The old school)

I'm generally not a fan of large piles, but that seems to bridge the gap between a "pile" and an actually useable home.

I really, really like it. The gardens are gorgeous!

Having said that, I'm not seeing the value over this place that was posted earlier -

Utterly spectacular grounds, lake and pool. House is pretty meh, though with some nice details in places.

It's also hilariously expensive.

There's loads of houses with that view in that part of the world, I've never seen one anywhere near that money, and most of them don't need gutting either. That little sex pond is quite amusing though.

Amazed at how reasonable the service charges are on a property like that.

https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/110200604#/...

Bit blingy in places, but I'd be hard pressed to day I didn't like it.

They've got a designer in used to doing 10k sqft new builds in Oxshott and it hasn't gone well...

Option to buy furnished gives it away really, same as all those grim things in Weybridge/Oxshott with various deep shag greys all over the place, quite common to buy them as they're dressed I understand.

Garden is nice, needs a pool though.

Absolutely grim interior, furnished by catalogue

Which is irrelevant really as all the furniture etc. won’t be there when you move in. Most of it appears quite neutral/nice if you ignore the furniture. Only thing that would need changing is kitchen, worktops doesn’t quite suit property imo.

Wine cellar and entertainment room though...

Also they'll sell this furnished (as it says in the listing, this is an option) to some tasteless with plenty of cash, much like the ones in the estates in surrey.

I'm currently really loving this place. Not full of catalogue grey chic, not a McMansion with an awful huge portico and a lovely private garden. If it was in the right area for me I'd be trying to find a way to make it work!
