We’ve got one of these. It’s alright I suppose.
We've found it works better when you have 2 of these stacked on top of each other.
Yeah that would probably make sense. Tbh at 20% you should buy 5 because you’re basically getting one free anyway.

We've got the PI mattress as I used to spend a lot of time in the them away with work and they always felt alright to me

£550 delivered for our Kingsize was better than we saw in Dreams etc

Had it about 4 months now, love it, it certainly helps that our old mattress was well past needing a change so anything would have felt good but we are both very happy

So at that price point, compared to the foam ones I don't think there is much better personally

We have our John Ryan artisan naturals being delivered in 3 weeks really looking forward to it after several years on some memory foam ones that are just god awful

Make sure the mattress isn't pillow topped.

On toppers tho anyone rocking a wool topper on an artisan naturals mattress?

Another very satisfied John Ryan Artisan customer here. We are on our second zip-link pair, first was a super king and we have just changed to a normal king as we moved into a house with smaller main bedroom. The first pair were still good after 10 years and now reside as singles in the spare room. This time we also bought the base and headboard from them.

Everyone is going to have different preferences, it's really down to yourself and what you feel comfortable with.

Unfortunately it's a bit of a faff trying to get hold of most mattresses for an overnight test to see how comfortable they are. So we went for the Premier Inn mattress as I've slept on many!

More than happy with it - no complaints.

You could always ask other hotels that you have stayed at which mattress they use.

"I hope this email finds you well and that you enjoyed your stay at the Ritz. Regarding your enquiry about the brand name of our mattress, we are using mattress from “Sleepeezee”. It is the hotel supreme 1400 pocket spring"

Logically, a hotel mattress should get less use than a domestic one, because the room won't be booked 365 days a year.

But boy, does it get ‘used’. Plenty of DNA in ‘em.

Just to counter a bit of the high praise for JohnRyan, I found them to be very odd.

I purchased a £1500 king size bed from the bespoke range. They recommended the ‘soft’ mattress based on the height and weight of me and my partner. I questioned whether soft was right for us at the time, but they basically said they were the experts and did this day in day out.

When the bed came, we both got on and the mattress just about folded around us. It was basically a big marshmallow with no support.

We tried to live with it for a few days, bearing in mind they give you a 30 day money back guarantee. But after a week we just couldn’t sleep on it and started to sleep in the spare room.

When we rang and explained, they asked for our heights and weights, and surprise suprise, told us we should have gone for the medium / firm.

The response after their miscalculation was the biggest surprise. I was fully expecting them to swap the mattress to the correct spec, especially as they had sent the wrong one. But the guy just said they would come and collect the bed and refund us as that was their policy. I questioned if they wouldn’t prefer to swap the mattress to the correct one, which was bluntly refused.

Anyway they came, collected and refunded our money promptly and efficiently, so no issues with their refund policy, but just a very strange customer experience. There was never any heated words or arguments at any point, all very well mannered and efficient, just an odd way to rectify what was a very simple issue.

We also had to return our super king zip and link as it wasn't the greatest thing in the world everyone makes it out to be... Had really uncomfortable sleep.. Tried for 30 nights and it went back.. . Maybe down to personal preference but just sharing to balance the views.. Refund was easy to get under their policy..

I was going to buy a Premier Inn one but it contains fire retardant which the OH has unequivocally stated she won't tolerate, so I'm now trying to work out which Hypnos one is closest in specification but without fire retardant.

As the title really, its for my mate, he is convinced that its one of the best mattresses you can get but if he wants it by Christmas he needs to order it by tomorrow.

Its £575 for a mattress and 2 pillows from here.

Well.

The thread title is :-

"Anything better than a Hypnos Premier inn mattress?"

It depends whether you put any credence or value on Which? magazine tests, I suppose. I do, as it happens.

They only tested one Hypnos mattress which they gave 53%, and it cost lots. I realise that isn't the Premier Inn model. They gave the Ikea Hovag 70% and that cost £180.

I suppose you pays yer money and takes yer choice - or something.

I think I know what I would do.

Edit

This part of what Which? said about another mattress. Much abbreviated

Quote

"Eve Premium Hybrid Mattress
£849.00Typical price
Test score 81%

Should I buy it?
Definitely – this is the best mattress we’ve seen in years, if not ever".

The IKEA Hovag is an excellent mattress for the price. We bought our daughter the single version and she really loves it.

Vispring don't seem to get much of a mention on here. Seem to be the most expensive brand in John Lewis.

I've got a Sleeping Duck mattress, bought it a few years ago.
It's an Australian brand and it's a hybrid type, you can also remove and replace the top foam part for different firmness or even do half firm and half medium if your partner prefers it.

It's deffo better than the Premier Inn bed which I've slept in loads when staying overnight at places for work.

In my opinion it's better than Eve/Simba which I've also tried out on trials.

Just a shame they have stopped selling in the UK recently for some reason.
