Entry level Miele vs Bosch/Siemens other appliances
Discussion
I've looked in previous threads, and often people have asked about Bosch vs Miele and overwhelmingly Miele is always recommended. But this tends to always be comparing a top end Bosch vs a top end Miele...
I'm putting in a new kitchen and putting in integrated appliances, upgrading from my current freestanding stuff. I'd budgeted £2,500 for a fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washing machine (which I thought was a decent amount compared to my current Samsung, Beko and Hotpoint setup, which have been faultless over 6 years).
This pretty much could only get me entry level Miele appliances if shopping around, or mid-upper end Bosch or Siemens appliances.
Comparing entry level to medium level, is Miele still the obvious one to go for?
N.B, I looked at trying to get graded Miele products, Miele offer this themselves but pricing wasn't competitive. If anyone has any seller recommendations, UK or Europe as could collect with a work van if much cheaper in their home country. Likewise, if there are discounts to be had buying a few appliances at once instead of ad hoc.

I'd rather have top end Siemens than entry-level Miele as I assume the former would have much greater functionality.Comparing entry level to medium level, is Miele still the obvious one to go for?

And we buy bottom end Miele for almost the same reasons... we usually don't want or need "greater functionality" (most of our clothes go in on the "20 min express" programme, for example) but do like the quality and support that comes with it, even at the bottom of the range.PHlL said:

Miele have integrated washing machines in their brochure but (unless things have changed) we looked recently and they don't show any on their UK website.I notice Costco showing some Miele appliances - I'm sure there was a washing machine for around £900 but in the store recently the one on show was £1800. It wouldn't be so bad if they really were guaranteed for 10 years like everyone seems to think, but it was just the normal 2yrs.

As an aside (since they're owned by Bosch) I'd not touch a Neff dishwasher again. Very unsatisfactory performance
There's an oddity with Neff dishwashers where they seem to load the machines with features - like top cutlery tray and loads of programms - but then build the machine with a plastic tub.We were disappointed with ours at first - bought it in a rush as the 20yr old Bosch it replaced suddenly went very noisy - but we found it's sensitive to tablets used. Anything other than the absolute most expensive ones and the wash is crap. It also shortens the wash if there's not much in it and then it doesn't even get tea stains off cups. It's fine if fully loaded.

I'm not too sure what else functionality I need in truth. Provided it does the basics well and hopefully reliably that's the key.The entry level Miele's look pretty decent and not lacking anything essential.
Fridge/Freezer is a KFN 37232
Dishwasher is a G 5050 SCVi

I have just seen this when looking into. Anyone got any feedback on AEG stuff for washing machine/washer dryer?AEG is supposed to be iffy for dishwashers - basic design flaws. As you are going integrated you're not going to be able to see anything so I would go Bosch for the dishwasher (never had a problem and neither has my partner), it won't matter if you go Bosch for one and Miele for the other.
Miele integrated washing machines are unfortunately a) rare, b) extortionate - presumably because they make fewer of them. Mine is wonderful but it was blooming expensive ten years ago.
I would ring their head office in Abingdon and see what they say.
ETA rumour is that Miele fridge and freezers are rebadged Liebherr

Same - I'd get entry level Miele washing machine and tumble dryer.Mainly use 20 mins for everyday stuff.
I own a kitchen company and sell a lot of appliances, I think Bosch/Neff are largely living off their past reputation, they have been reducing the spec and increasing the prices of their appliances for a while.
I am a big fan of Samsung, particularly for fridge freezers, ovens and hobs while Miele are great for washing machines and dryers.
Dishwashers used to be Bosh/Neff but I am not convinced that they still have an advantage over the competition.

Do Samsung do an integrated combination oven/microwave? Their website (which is awful at giving information on products) suggests not which is rather strange, basically rules them out for us. Pooh said:

We had a Samsung washing machine and at 10 months it fused the house every time I turned it on. I spent a lot of time on the phone each day for a week to customer services who said it was my problem and refused to send anyone unless I sent them an independent electrical report confirming a fault. I refused, stipulating it was only 10 months old (all evidence sent) and they eventually sent an engineer out who confirmed it was due to hard water scale build up on the motor that was shorting the machine out. 4 months later it went wrong again but I couldn’t face Samsung customer services again so We threw it out and bought a Miele which has never gone wrong and is fabulous.
We now also have a Miele dryer and dishwasher and they are all brilliant,

So for a dishwasher: Bosch series 6 or Miele Jubilee? I am a big fan of Samsung, particularly for fridge freezers, ovens and hobs while Miele are great for washing machines and dryers.
