I know, I know. It's a Harley.

But.

I think it looks great! Really interested to see what reviews it gets and the price point.

Am always looking at GS's, CrossTourer's, etc. as my way back onto 2 wheels but this has piqued my interest! Anyone else?

Sorry... but I switched off at "two wheeled multi tool"... Doesn't sound like the stuff of dreams, feel like I should question the speed of the "fast spin" cycle or how often the dustbag needs emptying.

It's come in for a lot of flack on the Harley pages I visit, but none of the critics has any real experience of it. Personally, I think it's vile, but I thought the same of my mate's BMW GS and it hasn't stopped them selling. Knowing Harley it'll be expensive... but again, that hasn't stopped BMW.

Too late to the party I think.

Cant see why you would choose this over a GS or Tiger for any other reason than brand loyalty.

That being said I had an extended test ride on a Buell adventure bike years ago, that was quite a good thing, so I see how the concept could work.

Not everyone wants the best-seller, and wants something else in the market. Ducati and KTM keep making and selling relatively well on their big adventure bikes for exactly that fact. Most people choose a GS, for those that don't there's a hugely competitive market out there.

Hopefully HD can smash this and make a product which is right on the money, and between this and the LiveWire they can shake off the old pig iron cruiser thing a bit and become more of a respected brand outside of the US.

Certainly the engine sounds like it's right on the money - a new V-twin with 145bhp and 130Nm torque (+9hp and -10Nm compared to the new 1250GS)

As above really, if it's a good bike then I'd buy precisely because it isn't a BMW GS or Triumph Explorer!

And to be judged a good alternative it's got to be competitively priced.... and not too heavy.

I agree! I'm really looking forward to seeing one (when allowed) in the flesh!

I saw a show model a while back, the front looks like a fridge on wheels.

Well it certainly looks distinctive .......the new 1250 liquid cooled engine looks like a good move though and replacement for the old V-Rod 1250. It would be nice to see Harley put that in a cruiser. They have been missing something with a bit of go in the range since the V-Rod ceased production and 145bhp out of the box would be a good start.

I think that is in the pipeline

They've also announced something of an R9T-rival in the Bronx as well, which could again be a great machine.

That article says it has been canned, but they did add a little teaser saying another model would be announced with the Pan America

It's worth remembering Harleys make up half of all bikes over 500cc sold in the USA – their market share is ridiculous (albeit shrinking). This could easily take a few BMW GS sales there if it's half decent...

Bugger, sorry, should've read it properly. Why they canned it I'm not sure, sounded like just the ticket frankly.

Bit different. Looks like a lower seat height. There are lower seat height options on the GS but on the Tiger it is more limited. I'd try the HD out just to do something different.
