Just had a letter from E-on that the electric deal that runs out at the end of March can be renewed at a bargain £635 up from £495.

I saw something about the regulator approving increases but yikes

Currently on a fixed British Gas deal which can be exited early for a £30 fee.

Usage is about 2800kwh of electricity and paying £40/month right now.

Gas is about 17000kwh and £64/month.

Seems like time to look at a price comparison site but any recommendations?

My provider (Green Network Energy) went bust at the end of last year, EDF have been appointed by Ofcom to take the customers on, who have said I will be put on a tarriff the same or cheaper than the one I was on.. still waiting to find out specifics.

Bulb are quoting £90 a year, it depends a bit on you postcode though. I am with them & they are ok but nothing really special. Octopus are well liked on here & would be £97 a year so not a great saving with either really.

Had a letter from BG in the week, i'm on dual fuel variable rate and their estimate if I remain on the same is a £60 yearly increase, I can save almost £10 if I go on to a fixed rate with them though

I pay:

Electric: 14.422 p/kWh Igloo Energy. Igloo Pioneer.
Gas : 2.42 p/kWh So Energy. So Alder

I know there can be geographic difference in cost, but as a very large consumer of gas and electric the standing charge is not really part of my considerations. Got to change my gas plan soon and struggling to find anything under 3p/kWh for gas. Electric plan has expired and need to change that too as feel that's expensive.

I'm just in the process of switching to Symbio Energy. It's electric only.

We use 2700Kwh a year on average so it will look something like...

13.33p per unit = £360
16.00p per day standing charge = £58.40

Plus 5% VAT (I think?) so around 440 quid a year hopefully (if I've got my maths right smile )

Would email you one - but you're not setup to receive messages.

(I believe it's against PH Ts&Cs to post referral links.)

I’m with Pure Planet and had an email a couple of weeks back about an increase, after loading up details to comparison sites I’d only save by going to a complete unknown so I’m staying put.

Their referral vouchers are £50 each currently..

Somewhat envious of your monthly payment - my bulb recommendation was to drop by £22pcm - from £178pcm. (Heat leaky / spread-out 1960s East/West detached).

We burnt through our free logs (those which were seasoned) end of last year and have spent £120 on smokeless coal this winter as well !

Just been on to the Bulb Energy website to get a quote for my postcode, someone want to be a 'friend' and email me?

Their prices for my postcode are a good saving on what I am paying now with BG!

After yorkshire energy collapsed I had the joy of Scottish Power still waiting for my final bill ironically.

But escaped with just under 2 months with Scottish Power, now with avro, but even this tariff and plan has gone recently.
