My provider (Green Network Energy) went bust at the end of last year, EDF have been appointed by Ofcom to take the customers on, who have said I will be put on a tarriff the same or cheaper than the one I was on.. still waiting to find out specifics.
Martin, money saving expert man had a look at the EDF (Green energy) rates and said they were the cheapest he can see at the moment. Cheaper than bulb, octopus etc. https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/news/2021/01/new...
Bulb gets a lot of love on here, but it doesn't come out top of the comparison sites, even whole market ones and not always the ones we see from in the industry. They did, 12/18 months ago, but they've put their prices up now and lost a lot of money last year which they need to turn around.
I suspect a lot of the love for bulb is that people can benefit from the £50 kickback.... which may make their opinion somewhat less than honest and reliable. Anyone who tells you that Bulb are the cheapest probably hasn't looked at the competitors products recently!

My previous fixed rate deal with Avro has just ended - was paying £120 a month
Now paying £150 a month on a new fixed price deal, and that was as cheap as it came for my usage.
3 bed bungalow, gas ok but i seem to use loads of electricity, the majority of which seems to be turned to heat by all the gaming / computer equipment in my sons bedroom

I am now all signed up with Bulb and it took less than 2 mins online, the monthly payment amount they have given me of £88.68 for dual fuel will I guess ge adjusted once I start sending monthly meter reads? If they keep it at that my account will have a huge credit on it by end of the year,my last bill (3 months to end Dec 20) was only £187 with BG at a higher price unit

Same boat here, although I only heard from EDF end of January and still nothing yet so far.My current tariff with GNE are £0.1324 per kWh for electricity and £0.0211 per kWh for gas.
Lot of electric showers and computers/smart devices/switches/mesh etc so our combined monthly bill is around £150. GNE was really cheeky raising my DD 2 months before going bust to £200...
Letter from EDF promises even cheaper rates to we shall see.

I pay:
Electric: 14.422 p/kWh Igloo Energy. Igloo Pioneer.
Gas : 2.42 p/kWh So Energy. So Alder
I know there can be geographic difference in cost, but as a very large consumer of gas and electric the standing charge is not really part of my considerations. Got to change my gas plan soon and struggling to find anything under 3p/kWh for gas. Electric plan has expired and need to change that too as feel that's expensive.

Thanks, will look into that now as 0.5p/kWh can really make a difference!
Edit- Just checked 3.1p for gas. 16p for electric
Ouch, are you sure you're not powering half a county by mistake?!? My heaviest month 760 kWh is way less than your best Edit- Just checked 3.1p for gas. 16p for electric

Prices have really shot up.
Like for like comparison for my mum's dual fuel bill for next year is that it will go up from £789 to £923, and that's after checking prices on uSwitch, compare the market and Moneysupermarket.
I ended up creating a spreadsheet to compare standing charge and unit prices
