Thanks. More basic than the other brands but it would do.

They do a cordless Bluetooth speaker as well which runs on the batteries so you could just stream from your phone. Can't find a link though

That would be ideal.

Neither ITS or tool station or Amazon have it.

Amazon do have it - £44.

That would be a definite add to the kit.

If you need spares for Einhell, the price is often so eye-watering that by the time you've paid P&P it is generally more cost effective to go and buy a replacement.

To update, bought this the other day

https://www.wickes.co.uk/Einhell-Power-X-Change-TE...

Have previously been using a dewalt 10.8v drill and my old man's Milwaukee Fuel 18v (cost £350). Obviously early days but the Einhell is probably 90% as good as the milwaukee and certainly wasn't 90% of the price. Batteries charge brilliantly quickly too. Just a case of watching the longevity now. It eclipses the dewalt for sure.

Will grab a circular saw, grinder and maybe the mitre soon.

There’s been some kind of run on their gear over the past week or so. There’s not a lot in stock at either ITS or tool station.

The thing that annoys me is that all the kits come with rubbish batteries so you have to fork out again for the 4 or 5 ah batteries on to of the 1.5 or 2ah ones that come with the kits.

Their batteries cost almost the same as a dewalt 18v 4ah one anyway.

Use Einhell 12V Drill/Drivers at Work for Electronic Repair.
No problems. Used daily but only light use.

Bought a Hammer Drill/Driver and Impact Driver Set from Amazon. It was a return and about £120
Quite a bit of DIY recently. The 2AH Batteries last pretty well and recharge quickly.
Have a cheap, corded SDS for anything heavy duty.

Sold my old Dewalt with duff Ni-MH Batteries and Charger on Ebay for £50

fast charger seems to solve this issue, 2ah charge in about 40 minutes, i've got 3 so just keep on rotation.

First impressions - nice and weighty.
They looks a bit like toys, the batteries are charging now.

They do! I think it's the vibrant red. Let us know how you get on with the impact driver, be interested to see if its worth it over the drill alone.

Old vs new -

Bit of testing in the workshop this afternoon- and it really holds up.

Almost exactly the weight as the Dewalt.
Centre of balance is pretty much the same.

The Einhell has a slightly unnerving smoothness when running a screw in but it does exactly what it is supposed to.

Gonna keep using them over the next few days so we will see.

The 2ah batteries do charge quick which is a positive.

Its gone up in price but was £80 with wickes & toolstation. This is the middle of the line-up with the cordless circ saws. There's one similar with a small blade and one with a larger blade and brushless motor but it was £140 at the time of purchasing.

I was worried as reviews are really inconsistent but from a few days of cutting some framing wood, it's brilliant. The plastic guard is frustrating as you have to push it out of the way but once done it rips through the 40mm stuff i'm cutting no problem with the supplied blade. Chuffed.

Can you offer an update to this, Pidsy?

I'm looking at the exact same set, and would be interested in your thoughts (and anyone else who's used them for a while!)

We are still using them and have added some other bits from the range as well.

The 2ah batteries were definitely a weak point but there are now half a dozen 4/5ah ones kicking about the workshop and these are great.

The rattle guns are great - the drill drives take some getting used to but no issues with the bodies at all.

Absolutely worth getting at the price point.

Thanks pidsy, appreciate the feedback.

What kind of use makes the 2AH batteries fall over?
