Surprised by the width of this property (and the price).

The depth is quite unusual too, especially given the width. The floor plans are bizarre. Who doesn't want a 15m x 3m bedroom?

I don’t know if it would be economically viable but it would make more sense to move the stairs down towards the centre of the building, creating more equal space on the first floor.

Hardly a nightmare, but the listed status, asbestos and cost of bringing it up to a nice standard would be challenging.
Probably best as some sort of hostel/AirBnB for twitchers.

Plus the location and limited travel links. I see quite a bit of appeal too, but much as I like isolation that might be taking it a but far.

The lack of sockets is enough to put me off.

There are plenty of sockets, they are just hidden and blend in!

Loads of potential if it wasn't at the edge of the universe.

It's outside the environment.

Not that bad by Shetland standards, you can be in Lerwick in 15 minutes if you have your own boat and 30 minutes from there to the airport at Sumburgh.

Ah - that's a lot better than the listing suggested.

Google maps says half an hour by car, and that includes a ferry.
Remote-ish, but not the end of the world.
