Until 2013 they had a big driveway and a triple garage but demolished most of the garage and dug up the driveway to make room for a veg garden and a small lawn. Far from a PH house.

Is the location really a big issue?

Someone has an eye for interiors. Looks really well put together.

Very cool place. Talented decorator, too. Some of those color combos should not work together, but they do.

Then again, I am an artist type ...
The red and purple hallway is vile, I don't think I've ever seen a flight of stairs painted half and half before either

Needs a bit more builders' beige for my taste

I don't know, but strongly suspect that if the aforementioned Builders Beige had featured (perhaps with some of those lovely grey and silver accents that are so en vogue wink ) this would have sold some time ago. Woah WTF isn't the first impression most buyers are terribly keen on.

But top marks for what they've done.

That is in what used to be prostitute central for south Manchester.
It’s still a bit dodgy, gentrified a bit now though, especially that hallway hehe
Far better to aim for Didsbury or go further out.

Would Didsbury put another million on the sticker price?

Also just the other side of the road to Moss Side and City's old ground. One of the most violent and drug related areas. Too close for comfort for me.

I'm seeing 3000 sqft Edwardian homes in Didsbury for the same price as this much larger one.

I could see £1.5m ish but not £2.5m ish, for that sort of money people end up in Ald Ed or Pres. Just my view smile

Blimey that used to be my GPs surgery.
Yes for me I’d be way further out.
Didsbury, Chorlton etc is all too busy and crowded now and the prices just don’t stack up.
I think that Whalley Range house is way overpriced - it’s at Farrow & Ball price level - someone far more on-trend than me will be all over it.

And I agree on the interior, dancing close to it being wrong but its bold and it just works.

The opposite of white wash and tile every surface interiors

Me too. It's a really beautiful house, but it's not where people with £1.5m to spend would want to spend it.

Your Range Rover is not going to last very long before there's someone at the foot of your bed at 3am asking politely for the keys.

I live alone with 2x cats and am currently contemplating if I have room for a liquid nitrogen generator which I may be able to get cheaply. I do have room alongside the house for a double-garage/workshop but can't decide what to build it out of (cheap steel/beefy steel/timber/brick etc)
Are you planning on cryogenically storing yourself? hehe

A "cabin in the woods." Without any woods. Because the trees would blow over.

You'd need to enclose the garden with a wall to protect from the wind but be carefull with the design that you don't block the views and install a substantial drainage system + it look like services such as sewers might not exist so tanks in the garden and there's no garage. At a wild guess, £50K++ to sort that out which may then add next to nothing to the property value??? Holiday let only for those who want to get away from those getting away from it all?
