Outdoor Space Ready For Landscaping Good luck with that laugh
You'd need to enclose the garden with a wall to protect from the wind but be careful with the design that you don't block the views and install a substantial drainage system + it look like services such as sewers might not exist so tanks in the garden and there's no garage. At a wild guess, £50K++ to sort that out which may then add next to nothing to the property value??? Holiday let only for those who want to get away from those getting away from it all?
You can see the sttank lid in one of the shots. Not sure it's even a holiday let tbh - might be a home for estate workers maybe, but pricey for that?

I live alone with 2x cats and am currently contemplating if I have room for a liquid nitrogen generator which I may be able to get cheaply. I do have room alongside the house for a double-garage/workshop but can't decide what to build it out of (cheap steel/beefy steel/timber/brick etc)
Are you planning on cryogenically storing yourself? hehe
Hmm, could have! It went for £280+fees in the end, RRP £50k. I need to build that workshop...

There are no trees because there are deer; growing trees is straightforward enough with suitable deer protection.

Wouldn't consider it a nightmare property bar the valuation which is clearly based on the property being wed out to punters taking their Grapes of Wrath to visit Cape Wrath as opposed to anyone using it as a home.

As to why the developer hasn't finished it so as to get best value from an investor, that's a little odd?

It's partly the location, but mainly the layout, to me.

Because there's no central hallway, every room opens off the main space / living room. This means that the walls in that room are mostly doors, making it hard to locate the sofa etc.

Then there's the second bedroom, in which I challenge you to fit a bed.

The walls between the two bedrooms, and between the kitchen and the living room are likely loadbearing given the direction of the roof trusses, so it's not like you can knock it into just two big rooms and a stter.

Then there's the water coming off the hill. You can see there's been a notional attempt at digging a drainage channel on the side of the house opposite the front door, but what happens in a storm?

And it's overpriced by about £75k.

I don't have the right mindset to live so far away from anything (although the state of the world right now might change my mind on that pretty quickly!) but this "Clashmore is within reasonable driving distance of nearby villages and towns that provide everyday amenities. The coastal village of Lochinver and the larger settlement of Lairg both offer shops, cafés, medical facilities and other essential services.". Lairg is 1h30m drive away and theres not a lot there. That house really is at the end of the earth...

I found this property on the Rightmove Android app and wanted you to see it: https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/168228167

Everything about it is hideous in my opinion.

Loving the floor plan though. Why can't sellers and estate agents proof read. 10 seconds looking at the floor plan and its clear theres a mistake. What standards are you working to when the door to the bedroom is 10.cm.wide ?

I also found this property on the Rightmove Android app and wanted you to see it: https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/170960096

I fking love it. Wouldn't change much. I'd even offer to buy some of the furniture.

Why do you ask? If I were a bot I'd have put some pictures in my post of the 1960s bathroom.

Each to their own.
I don’t particularly like the first but to me it is way nicer than the dated oap bungalow
Neither are bad enough to be in this thread.

Agreed. I’m not a fan of the outside of the first one (a bit too sterile) but the interior is fine and (in my opinion) it is not even remotely a “nightmare”.

I don't think either are that bad. Weird long bedroom on the first.

Second one is a standard pensioners doer upper home.

Sorry - over £800k for a three bedroom bungalow in Liverpool; have we stepped through the looking glass?

First one is what the second one will look like when a developer with a penchant for grey window frames, white paint and laminate flooring gets their hands on it.

Love the bathrooms in the second one - reminds me of what my grandpas house used to be like. He had the wood panneling in his living room - was ace.
