In this respect could it have not made more sense to have garages for both properties in the centre of the building (one at the front of the building one at the back) These could then have an annex for each above. Just turn off your olds hearing aids when they come to stay, problem solved!

£8000 ground rent and maint = sillysillysilly
And only 20 years left to run on the lease.

It's where the people who can't afford Abersoch go?

It's a holiday home. The ground rent and maintenance will include the maintenance and upkeep of the gym, leisure club, indoor swimming pool, restaurant etc and will also likely include council tax.

The price is the price, second hand ones on The Warren are going for £480,000 : https://haulfrynholidays.co.uk/homes-for-sale/nort...

It's still absolutely mental, but there are lots of people paying those prices. Especially when you consider you'll have to buy a new van every 20 years. They're for rich people who are time poor and can't be bothered maintaining and running a holiday home, but want all the facilities these places provide. I've friends with holiday homes in North Wales and their total cost of ownership is probably 5% of what one of these places costs.

And don't want to displace or price out the locals.

I’d be very happy to do a lot of displacing and pricing out instead of spending four hundred grand on a static caravan. You’d have to be insane.

I guess they'll also handle renting it out for you? For a fee obvs, but still cutting the hassle factor. They'll have an army of cleaners etc

I would agree but I have many questions..like what happens if the firm goes bust? Do you own the land and the caravan but then realise the value is linked to the resort?

My contribution for today

Why on earth have I never considered having the washer in the living room?!

To be fair (ignoring all the stuff that needs to go in a skip) - that looks like a decent little gaff in a good location for investment.

If my son was heading to Notts Medical School (He's not) - I'd be tempted to pick that up for his student digs.
I thought that too, looks ex LA, some of those places represent good VFM. I wonder what it'll fetch at auction?
It annoys me when they put a fishing price out there to get people to the auction, all the similar houses in the road have sold for 2.5 - 3 times the advertised price.
Went for £145k in the end

£410k and another £8k a year for the privilege of owning a posh caravan.

Sure, I'll take two.

You’re buying a shed and the right to keep it there for twenty years, for an annual fee.

I'm afraid to say this rental has already been pulled from Rightmove, it was only on for about 10 minutes. However, most of the advert still remains. Only a grand a month, enjoy!

“This lovely annex…”

Must check my dictionary. This must be an obscure definition of the word “lovely” that I’ve never come across before.

And I'm not sure a shed on the patio can really be called an annex either!
