My offering for today, value proposition pawn.

https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/156595022#/...

No doubt it'll come with downsides for many - tourists being one.

Nicely done, but a lot of money for a 3 bedroom end terrace with a small garden.
Views - which they really go on about - are only worth so much.

TBF I thought that looked very cheap for what it is and where it is (I'm a surveyor in Cumbria)

Love the Arts and Crafts feel to it

You'd certainly be in with a good shout of winning the "my gatehouse is grander than yours" competition!

The whole place is awesome, but even if you had a good Euromilions win, you'd still be wondering if you could afford to run it.

Wonder if the price includes furnishings?!

I thought it looked cheap for what and where it is too, and I know the area well.

Looks like a little private estate with some chunky pricing. That's no1 - Rightmove sale history says no2 (a flat) sold for £515K in 2005.

Wow. Upkeep would be interesting, but there's some lovely lodges there (that'd do me etc). Deffo pawn.

And that's only part of it - there are several farms and a pub outlying which are for sale separately. And a huge car store with Adam style windows!

But some of the furniture does kind of cry 'self made man' biggrin

It's proving hard to shift - even despite the G1 cascade that surely all of us need in our lives - and last time round I learned what a Tempietto was, which was nice smile

Hows about:
15 bed, Titled estate of 18 (shooting) acres, Strathcarron IV54
Hydro-power potential for true off grid living (I'm guessing solar would be....variable laugh )
Less than £300k

Requires some modernisation

This seems to have popped up a few times recently.

Are folk just looking at the bedroom number, property size and land relative to the price and thinking "pawn"?

The purchase price is just the start of a world of pain and suffering!

It could be epic but could also bleed you dry!

If it was done up and say £1.5m it would be pawn I think. Location seems good. Walking distance to a station as well. I wonder if the boat house you can see on the loch could have any links? Although I have no experience I always have a fear of midges with any Scottish properties but this would be a nice getaway.

The list price is a come get me auction figure, it will go for a lot more and as said you'll need deep pockets to make it what it could be.

It popped up on my facebook feed a couple of days ago (after seeing it here), I imagine it's doing the same for many others....

I saw it on Facebook, I think on Sunday, and posted it here.
Not convential pawn of course, but an amazing opportunity to create it for someone with sufficiently deep pockets. Certainly more pawn-worthy than 7mil for a box in Wimbledon...

Aye, but they must still be thinking it's "pawn" in order to post in this thread, which leads me back to the question above biggrin

Of course, as always, what is and isn't pawn is subjective.

For me, there's definitely a bit of ignorance and perception that all of rural Scotland equals 'here be dragons' - so whenever I see something posted like that location can't come into my opinion.

At face value, that looks like it's got some incredible spaces and architecture, for a seeming bargain price (acknowledging that it's going to need a vast amount spent!).

Personally, it's got the thing which instantly dings my dong - the ability for your own hydroelectric power...
