Any property with the word 'Chichester' in the particulars gets a hard no from me.
How come?

We bloody love being around Chi. Admittedly, Mrs Sway hasn't known anywhere else - but I definitely have, and would still choose it over almost anywhere else in the country to live.
Because there's essentially one road in, and one road out and the traffic is fking horrible.
That's fair enough. I don't find it an issue - but will admit it's much easier now we're 'level' with Chi instead of being south. I also have always essentially missed rush hour, as either my commute was far enough I was leaving early/getting back late, or now WFH.

The house we're talking about is on probably the worst road route in the entire area - the hordes in summer wanting a day trip to the Witterings. If aiming to live around the Harbour, I'd far prefer to be on the Bosham side...

That's lovely. Is that not at serious risk of flooding though?

It can flood a bit in Bosham...

Fantastic house but 2.5 acres simply isn't appropriate for such a place.
At the moment you get Liam Gallagher as your neighbour. He's renting part of a nearby property

That's by the Anchor Bleu. Right on the tide, and they're all built to accommodate the springs.

That one is absolutely lovely. I've got a feeling I might know the owner, but not sure.

Diderot, we really do need to meet up for a pint. Shame the Gribble keeps burning down!

I have to disagree. That is a perfect blend of old vs new with manageable land. One of my favourites so far.

Yeah, it's fab that house.

I was thinking the same Sway, as I drove past the Gribble a week or so ago. We should make it happen over the summer.

That's an incredible place, imo, and I really like it.

10 bedrooms and 11 bathrooms is way, way too much for me, but oddly, 2.5 acres I'm absolutely fine with, I definitely wouldn't want anything more than that.

As a rule, yeah, 2.5 would be plenty for me generally but a place like that needs 10 or more IMO.

If you look at the map, it's absolutely surrounded on all sides. Shame.

A house that’s a lot nicer to look out of, than look at.
I'm curious about the water feature flowing towards the patio - if that's what it is. Stuff of nightmares...

Me too though no one does a rill as well as those by Lutyens at Hestercombe.

That's one of the nicest on here in a long time.
I know nothing at all about the area but the house itself, and the land surrounding it are just to my taste.
Well found.

Traffic aside, Chichester and the wider Manhood Peninsula (more so the further west you go) are bloody lovely.

Too long a story for here, but a couple of decades ago I spent a month in ten places dotted around the country whilst I tried to decide where I wanted to live. Then a month in the 'final 2'.

Chi and nearby villages became the choice, and I've not regretted it one bit.

Yep! It's the cock of the UK!

I regularly take the piss out of Mrs Sway for going to Manhood School.
