Take a picture of the wall then use that as a screensaver on the TV.
Interesting idea which I might pursue! Wall at back is brick/stone, so will need some chasing in, but I’m a geologist by training and know how to cut stone… (as well as destroy stuff, it’s a fine line)I think wall mounted with the devices a distance away would work best if you don't want a projector.
I have a 86" TV wall mounted and built a stud wall to hide all cables and tiled that...
The unit I have is a Frank Olsen one, not expensive. Neat and tidy as it has a little remote eye you can hide and then feed all the things like sky box, x box etc hidden in unit and still use remotes. Also has led lighting that you can set up to come on when you want and a secret wireless charging point on top of unit.

I'd hide it in plain sight. Wall mount the tv, move the pictures around and add a couple of smaller ones to balance.
Forgive the shockingly bad paint attempt, but it'll give an idea what I'm talking about! It probably all wants to go a bit higher, which may leave space underneath for a decent sideboard more in keeping with the house, or something else which would hold the essentials.

Thanks for the great idea, I will raise it with the Mrs. Old unit is from our old house, which was much more modern and in keeping. Current place is 1825 and very idiosyncratic, and it just doesn’t work here (nor does the tv). Agree it could do with being a few inches higher.Forgive the shockingly bad paint attempt, but it'll give an idea what I'm talking about! My god there must be alot of people with stiff necks looking at most of those TV's mounted so high!chopper602 said:
We've just done this (timber frame, plaster board, plaster skim, paint) :
You could add a roller shutter or something to hide the TV and you could have your 'extras' in the alcoves - we have a soundbar and a subwoofer round the corner
I've got a set up like that for my "large" TV, albeit a fair bit lower down. I say "large" as I wasn't keen to go beyond 50 inches which seems tiny by comparison to some of the screens on here. I have gone large in terms of audio - top end Yamaha receiver and Monitor Audio speakers fill out the sound nicely. Plus a sub.You could add a roller shutter or something to hide the TV and you could have your 'extras' in the alcoves - we have a soundbar and a subwoofer round the corner
My main TV, ie the one I end up watching all the time, is a miniscule 40 inches. Tucked away in an alcove with a pretty decent soundbar & sub below.

In my befuddled mind I thought it was quite a leap that the cruise line had diversified into tv’s but then caught up with the fact that’s Fred Olson. The unit I have is a Frank Olsen one…

No worries, glad you’re able to see past the paint skills dudleybloke said:

I’d go for a picture of the opposite wall for a mirror effect. Will confuse guests when they’ve vanished!57Ford said:

Secret rotating wall that spins round at the touch of a button to reveal the TV...
Or in a slightly more practical suggestion, how about a ceiling mounted projector with a pull-down screen? If you're wife values a few extra inches, then you should be able to get one that gives a picture bigger than 75", and when not in use everything is out of sight on the ceiling
this seems like an excellent idea - mind you at that point (AIUI) you really need blackout curtainsOr in a slightly more practical suggestion, how about a ceiling mounted projector with a pull-down screen? 'A bit council'
Hey, I freely admitted I don’t like it!All TV's are council and get progressively more so the bigger they get. A non council TV would be an ostentatiously small black & white tucked away on a shelf in the kitchen.
