Fun Facebook memory popped up recently, reminding us that 10yrs ago we let some other folk deal with the stress of this whole house building thing.

Mastic work and cladding ongoing, garage block is now mostly complete in the exterior apart from the lack of doors.

Greeted by an interesting noise whilst working from "home" this morning. Sounded like a truck driving in but wasn't expecting one, turns out the scaffolders had rocked up a day early to start pulling down the annex scaffold.

Finally get to see the stone work

That’s looking nice and sharp.

Just pop a plank under that gutter exit to direct any rain water away from the new work until the down pipe’s are installed.
Will save an awful lot of damp against the new work.

It’s definitely been nice to get a tick in the win column for a change hehe

Joking aside, things were getting a bit endlessly frustrating at points in the last month so this was a good boost of our spirits.

It’s not even funny the amount of time I’ve spent putting on bloody downpipe socks over the last 2 months only for them to get yanked off. Every downpipe had a sock at the start of last week irked

Yes that’s a real pain for you. Has to be done though, particularly in very low temps after a wet period. You don’t want rain freezing on that render.
