He's back!
How has he settled in? I seem to recall there were some behaviour problems at first...?
He’s doing good thanks! We had a few little issues but in all honesty he’s as good as gold. He’s so loving, he just wants fuss all day every day. He really is the most affectionate cat I’ve ever known. How has he settled in? I seem to recall there were some behaviour problems at first...?
He’s not all that happy at the moment as he’s on obesity management food since Christmas, under vets orders! In two years he’s gone from 4.8 to 6.6 kg - we are aiming to get him back down to ~5kg. He’s got his third weigh in tomorrow and we’re hoping he’ll be under 6kg for the first time in a long time!
He just doesn’t get much exercise at all, he’s such a homebody.

Our cat Korky used to do this when he was younger.Several times we would see/hear him sliding down the roof panel and land in the gutter.
A little shake down and a look that said "what?" and he was off on another adventure
Does anyone know where I can get something similar to this?
My cat won't touch any other treats but is obsessed with this one, however Zooplus have sold out and the other sites I find are based abroad so the postage cost is massive. I know you can get the individual sachets but the big pack is much better since I don't have to waste an entire one every time I need to tempt her away from somewhere she shouldn't be.

Tonight we had to put to sleep our long haired Ginger Tom "Kimber". We got him along with his best bud Jango from Batersea cats and dogs home.
They had been at the home for five months when we first saw them as nobody wanted what were two old 12 and 14 year old cats. Before visiting the home we had made the decision to choose that cat/cats that were most in need and they were kimber and Jango.
Kimber passed away tonight at the age of 19. It has been an utter joy to have shared the last five years with him and I would love to think the latter half of his life has been a very happy one
Sweet dreams Kimber you will be very very missed
When I got the two I currently have from Cats Protection I walked straight past all of the pretty young ones as I knew that they would more easily find homes and chose two older ones who had gone into there together months earlier and were constantly overlooked. Also one of them, Jasper is black which I am told makes them harder to re home. That was over five years ago and they are still going strong at around 17/18 years old. The tabby female has a thyroid problem and is on treatment for life and is going for her three monthly blood test at 9 o'clock this morning and am not looking forward to the battle of getting her in the carrier ! I know that they won't be around for many more years but wouldn't swap them for anything.
Sadly we had to have Murphy PTS on Friday afternoon.
He was about 20 and my wife had him for 18 years so she was devastated.
We knew it was time though. His kidneys and bladder had gone and he wouldn't even walk a few yards to the litter tray.
Vet agreed it was the right time for him to go as otherwise we would just be back with him in a week or two's time and by then he could be in a lot of pain. He was purring when my wife was holding him just before he got taken away for the injection
He had a great life with us though but it doesn't make losing them any easier does it.
We still have 2 other rescue cats to keep us busy though.

Why do cats purr when their time comes?
When my younger boy was a teenager he was at home when our 18 year old tabby Nina crawled into her basket for the last time, obviously fading. Son held her paw in his hand and told me she purred away for a while and then just stopped.
The frequency cats purr at stimulates tissue growth. They also do to it to show love, care to others. When my younger boy was a teenager he was at home when our 18 year old tabby Nina crawled into her basket for the last time, obviously fading.
