Thanks guys smile

Some very gorgeous cats on here.

Marcel is currently interrupting Mrs TAD changing our bedding by stealing the duvet.

After losing the second of our cats (Trinity) to old age earlier this year (her brother, Neo died a couple of years earlier) I've finally given in to Mrs Cjelli and the mini vlads, accepting we should get cats again.

Visits to local CPL and RSPCA proved unsuccessful (kitten shortage), so we got in touch with a local independent cat rescue, who have a couple of nice little balls of fluff in need of a good home.

So, subject to a home inspection next week, I should hopefully have a couple of pics up soon.
Might need suggestions for names after the matrix series of films went downhill...

For donkey's years we've said, after a cat has passed on: "No more - that's it!" Then along came the chance to have another, and another...

Always an interesting game - thinking up their names and as you mention about your previous ones, we often pick 'themes' that are topical or close to our hearts.

We've had Basil and Sybil .... followed by Manuel (and Pedro - but only to match Manual as it was two boys, or he'd have been Polly if boy + girl)

Our current 'theme' is Russian names as we spent 4 years in Ukraine; so we had Sasha and Sveta, sadly lost Sasha a couple of years ago, so Sveta has been recently joined by Sergey and Oxana.

When we were cat-less and out of country, we toyed with something like names from racing drivers, so Gilles or Keke - so something like that? or pick another movie franchise with some fun names?

Ah the choosing of the name... my Lab with the bad legs is Locke (remember Lost - the first season wasn't all that bad). The chickens have all been racing drivers/riders - Guy Martin had mad feathers, Ruebens was of a small and quiet disposition - actually turned out she outlived them all, Valentino, Hamilton, Colin, Senna - to name a few. The Ducks were cyclists (something to do with a fish needing a bike). And the cats... Lebowski the rescue Bengal, because he peed on soft furnishings in his previous home, then his bestie Walter. Frida was going to be Maud (Again from The Big Lebowski - I wanted her to have a child) but she was relevant to some artists and life so became Frida (Kahlo). The kittens were mainly Trailer Park Boys and the character Bubbles inspired. Private Dancer being one. She's mostly called PD.

Please post name and photo updates for all those new kitties smile

I know what you mean, they've grown so much in the four weeks I've had them. To me they now look like mini cats rather than kittens but everyone else thinks they look tiny.

It was over a year since my last cat died, Milly was over 20 years old and I swore I wouldn't get another cat. It's been an awful year for various reasons but getting these two is my best decision in ages, I can't believe I waited this long, so much joy in such small packages!

My house phone rarely rings these days so a few years ago it was replaced with a cheap corded phone. I ocassionally find it knocked over - blame the kids. I'm home today and it rang... Walter ran over to it and 'answered' it biglaugh
