Sadie is my rare grey cat; here she basks on the Mx5 a few months ago. A sweeter, louder cat there never was.

We had a bad day today and some traumatic issues, inc a death, to deal with. I’m glad to be home and have my family safe. The cats must know as they haven’t left my side. Then just browsing my Instagram I came across this http://instagram.com/simba.our.hero My heart has just broken. I can’t imagine what this child is going through without his cat by his side. Anything from mental health to physical disability our cats/pets have an amazing ability to help us. Just wanted to share. Stay safe everyone.

As Gary says, hope todays been better for you Gretchen.

Our little old man had a bit of an episode last week... He was sitting in the kitchen with me, suddenly jumped down to the door all puffed up because he'd spotted the neighbours younger, fitter ginger cat. Billy is a bit too old now (17 soon) to be having fights with neighbours, so I went out to shoo ginger away to cause him less stress. Billy obviously thought now is his time to shine, he has some broom wielding human sized back up, so bolted in front of me to a part of the garden I couldn't reach quickly. Queue typical sideways cat stand off for all but 2 seconds. I shooed ginger away and Billy stumbled towards the house, where he eventually ended up in the hallway, collapsed, wetting himself frown we thought "this is it, he's old, has a heart murmur, lets get him to the vets sharpish to get some help otherwise this is the end".

As we're in the car, he perks up almost instantly. We get to the vets, he takes a rectal thermometer in his stride, has a nose about and off we're sent with nothing more then "he seems fine! Could be something neurological so we could run lots of tests, but that would stress him out, so just keep an eye on him." so off we go confused we can only put it down to a stress induced seizure?

Anyway, luckily he was back to his normal self straight away:

Passed out on me

Then in front of the fire

Anyone experienced anything similar?

Things are good now it’s Caturday smile

Remember I ‘rescued back’ little kitten Private Dancer back in July... here she is with Mum Frida on my bed where they’ve been cuddled up since last night. Frida has become a calmer happier cat and PD is just love most loving thing, she sleeps with me under the duvet every night and has an almost constant purr.

It’s going to be a white Christmas. This is the calm before the storm, the tree is being decorated this afternoon...

Other updates - the cat I linked to Simba is home and doing well. Back at the Supervet on Tuesday

Frida’s other daughter Prosecco May become a Mum herself next year! She lives with an older cat and a new little sister kitten. The Tabby Rorschach now know as Biscuit is sooo handsome and loved by his family, his vet and the cattery he has been to a few times - one very spoilt cat who loves to Facetime. And Reigate (the white boy) is with another PHer and looking happy and loved and very much part of the family.

Looks like blending in, white cats are the best so fluffy. It is amazing how her and pd look so similar, nice they stay together.

Not sure if this is the right place to post this but didn't want to make a new thread.

With 7 days to go until we pick up Bear we've started to buy up all the bits we need. We've been looking at toys and scratchers and a lot of them come with CatNip in them. With my last cat catnip used to drive him absolutely nutty and then crash hard. If I remember correctly it's like weed for cats. I just wondered, should we be avoiding it for a new kitten and getting toys/scratchers without it? Or does it not matter?

Also, can anyone recommend a good reasonably priced insurer?

So far we've got wet food, dry food, pet carrier, litter, litter tray, litter mat, scratcher (with catnip but it's bagged separate so you can use it or not), food bowls, catnip free toys, toys on string. The wife also got him a bed but I doubt he'll use it and we also got a blanket that we've sent off to the breeder so he has we've got something he's used too to bring home with him. We've made sure to have the same food and litter as he's used too at the breeder. Is there anything else that you think we might need?

Also, short clip of the boot from when we went to see him in October. Can't wait to bring him home.

That's a weird video link, expected to see a cat !

Re insurance, we're with LV but probably just a case of the usual price comparators.
