It's Caturday- Post some cats (vol 3)
Discussion
He's home.
He hid under the sofa for a few hours and eventually came out and explored. We then went to bed and he was crying and whimpering so I put him in the bedroom and he ended up sleeping between us. He woke up every few hours to have a play and a chat and then went back to sleep. I'm exhausted. He looks how I feel! haha

He is gorgeous. However you really should think about getting him a rescue playmate. Kittens need play time and you will be doing a great thing especially if you get a black or black and white one.
I can only 2nd this, excellent adviceBear is gorgeous. And he clearly is going to be king of your house since he’s already in your bed

We searched for ages to try and find a rescue Birman but couldn't find any anywhere. Unfortunately getting any other breed wasn't an option due to allergies and fur even though I would have preferred a rescue. We looked for about 5 months before eventually finding a breeder with an available kitten. He was the last of his litter so couldn't even bring one of his brothers with him as they'd already been sold.
He's doing much better today though. Spent more time on the sofa than under, has done his first poo and is currently sitting on my lap whilst I type this. He met a few of our friends who came round this evening and was fine!

Boris has been in prison for the past three weeks (cattery) while we swanned around New South Wales attending our son's wedding and otherwise being tourists. What they say about prisons being academies of crime is true - he now knows how to defeat my best efforts at jamming the sliding door to our kitchen closed overnight to stop him leaping on to our bed at God-awful hours. Despite a door-stop wedge being shoved under the outside of the door to prevent him poking his paw around the end and pulling it open, he has managed to escape twice in two days. He'd never beaten the wedge before he was incarcerated in the cattery so I must conclude that he learned his Houdini tricks at the cattery escapology clinic. Today's task is to somehow thwart his best efforts because my daughter will be here with her family and their one-eyed dog, and I suspect Boris would make the poor creature's life misery by sneaking up on her blind side and scaring her witless if allowed to find her overnight!

I feel your pain. Ours has been in a cattery a few times, but thankfully she doesn't seem to have picked up more than she already knows. She can open fridges. We have had to install child locks on the freezer and the cleaning drawer in her area. The last time she opened a fridge, she waited about 3 months until it was this time of the year... Then helped herself to a whole side of smoked salmon! Not to mention how she will wait for you to open the door, then dart past you and run amock.Gassing Station | All Creatures Great & Small | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
