Boris has been in prison for the past three weeks (cattery) while we swanned around New South Wales attending our son's wedding and otherwise being tourists. What they say about prisons being academies of crime is true - he now knows how to defeat my best efforts at jamming the sliding door to our kitchen closed overnight to stop him leaping on to our bed at God-awful hours. Despite a door-stop wedge being shoved under the outside of the door to prevent him poking his paw around the end and pulling it open, he has managed to escape twice in two days. He'd never beaten the wedge before he was incarcerated in the cattery so I must conclude that he learned his Houdini tricks at the cattery escapology clinic. Today's task is to somehow thwart his best efforts because my daughter will be here with her family and their one-eyed dog, and I suspect Boris would make the poor creature's life misery by sneaking up on her blind side and scaring her witless if allowed to find her overnight!
I feel your pain. Ours has been in a cattery a few times, but thankfully she doesn't seem to have picked up more than she already knows. She can open fridges. We have had to install child locks on the freezer and the cleaning drawer in her area. The last time she opened a fridge, she waited about 3 months until it was this time of the year... Then helped herself to a whole side of smoked salmon! Not to mention how she will wait for you to open the door, then dart past you and run amock.
biggrin that's the spirit!

More snow today, so Oxana was out playing again;

I'll fiddle with a couple more when I can on the computer, but this one was easy to crop on iPad to upload.

She really seems to relish the snow, running around in it, chasing snow balls and having fun. Her sister didn't go more than 2 feet from the door! rolleyes

Only 1/2 - dad was, mum a moggie.

Curiously her sister is short haired, so perhaps also lacks the 'go out in the snow gene' hehe

our cat likes to make sure we're awake at around 7am each morning by headbutting the bedroom door until it opens then pouncing on human toes for fun and then if that fails basically sitting on the pillow over your head - at around 5kg that generally does wake us up...

here are two pics a year apart - Luther

Believe it or not, he actually goes to his bed to have a sleep. He comes into the bedroom at about 7.30 and helps my wife get ready for work and then joins me in bed at 8.15 for a nap once she's gone..

I'm smitten with this boy.
That is a handsome cat - and a fine photo ... but more than anything, it's annoying, because it shows up just how un-photogenic "my" cat is. Same breed, but yet this is the very best photo have of her:

I too have some photos like that of Bear.

As predicted he doesn't use his bed anymore. He likes to drag the cushion, blanket and lamb out and leave them dotted around the lounge. We've also found him using the lamb as a pillow!

Still cute though!

He's getting quite big now and I think teething as he's into biting everything.

Our Boris sometimes gets his eye taken by animals on the television, but mostly he reacts strongly to any cat miaows on the radio or TV. If a cat howls or growls he is very unhappy indeed.
