She is also REALLY bitey at the moment, sleep is often disrupted by facial attacks and biting of faces... reminds me of this from The Labyrinth film:

She is trouble, our 3rd tortie and by far the naughtiest. She is currently in the aggressive play and pouncing phase, just reached 8 weeks of age.

This was last night:

Brilliant!!

My girl is a tortie. She’s mad as a bucket of frogs.

I told Bob about the flood risk in my area last week. He wisely retreated to a safe place:

In other news, over night I close my cats into the living room / conservatory area of the house so that i can actually sleep. Not a probalem over summer, but over winter i feel bad because i have to leave the door between the living room / conservatory open so that they can get to the cat flap in the conservatory. The conservatory is, as you might expect, very cold and over night the living room ends up cold too as the door between them is open. Whilst they're out of the rain / wind, i feel bad for them not having anywhere warm. So am i being far too soft demonstrating all the backbone of a dead jellyfish, or is there something out there that i could leave out overnight to keep them warm?

A small electric blanket, set to low and on a timer switch so you don't have to remember to turn it on and off?

Get a down sleeping bag. Cut it in half to make two smaller bags, obviously you'll have to do some stitching.

Job done.

I used to do this for Maxwell (sadly deceased). The small ones are usually designed to switch off after 90 mins, so I had a timer switch set to go off every 75 mins and come on again 15 mins later round the clock.

The two cats I house share with get shut in the kitchen overnight. With the door open to the un-insulated "outhouse" where the cat flap is. So same sort of situation. They do come with their own fur coats, and happily wander around outside at night in cold temperatures. So we just make sure they have some cat beds to snuggle down into if they want.

Thanks for the responses. I might get an electric warm matt thing as I'm hopelessly soft when it comes to the two of them...

I believe the phrase is “dominating the stairs”?

She regularly tries to kill me by getting under my feet as I walk downstairs.

I had one that looked like that and she used to follow me up the ladder when I was painting upstairs window frames. Of course she couldn't/wouldn't go back down so I had to try to get past her and then lift her off the rungs. I have the scars...

The two videos recently posted are great.

I remember doing the toe dance with our last kitten.

He used to lick an eyelid to get our attention in the mornings

Our old girl used to start by purring as loudly as she could, then she’d try licking, and it that didn’t work she’d grab chunks of my wife’s hair and yank it to wake her up for breakfast.

At 4am. Everyday.

Never did it to me when the wife was away on business, but soon as she came back it would start again.

My Tabby cat Spider used to do exactly this! Even if you thought she was so fast asleep you could creep past. Out came a paw to trip you up.

I have an eyeball licker but in a dog. Daddy the Chihuahua does this. Not just to me but to my other dogs and cats!

Been catless for about 2 months now, but noticed my local Cats Protection were having an open day so popped along. They had several lovely cats there, including an absolute 8kg unit of a tomcat who kept switching between his food bowl and attention. But in the end I agreed to take a 4 year old white female whose owner had apparently died, since she was the friendliest of the lot. Picking her up on Saturday assuming my new kitchen gets fitted on time.

I expect there will be pictures in due course (of the cat, not the kitchen smile).

My parent’s cats are the same they have recently brought them some heated cat beds , it’s basically a cat sized fluffy house with a heated pad in bottom . But being cats they only use them in summer when turned off
