Thanks for the responses. I might get an electric warm matt thing as I'm hopelessly soft when it comes to the two of them...
My parent’s cats are the same they have recently brought them some heated cat beds , it’s basically a cat sized fluffy house with a heated pad in bottom . But being cats they only use them in summer when turned off
Smokey already has a heated bed...my legs!

Cat flap in the door?

We have a cat flap in one of our french windows, cost some money on glazing but it provides a great option.

"Nestle" is still bouncing around, playing the duvet game. She is around 8 weeks now we reckon, and has totally come out of her shell. She seems quite a violent kitten, so we are starting to make it clear we won't tolerate repeated biting and attacks by moving her off us / off the bed and sometimes using scruff of neck to remove her when she gets really rough. I am covered in scratches! That said she is also very cuddly and calm once it's out her system.

Literally no end of those sort of pics - its ridiculous.

Every minute with a new kitten is a different story. She is so photogenic. I am trying not to block the thread with pics.

This is calm mode:

Please keep posting pictures of the lovely Nestle. She is adorable.

Our Tiger Lily has now met the dogs and in true cat fashion has told them what she thinks, with a bit of hissing.

She is now happy to sit on our laps even in the lounge.

This is the first time we have had a girl cat. Do they have any different characteristics from the boys?

My boy is a sloth. He’s gentle, sleeps for England, wouldn’t kill a fly... he’s just generally a sweet thing.

My girl is a bit bonkers. Never settles, kills anything that moves, is in to everything, yowls for attention/food.

Having said that, my previous 2 were boy and girl and they were the complete opposite of that.

I've never had a boy cat. Our eldest tortie came from a seemingly family moggy back ground but is a lethal hunter. We get squirrels left on the kitchen surfaces and rats / mice bought in for our pleasure.

Had an afternoon of Netflix with "el bitus". She had to be detached, removed and placed on the floor numerous times.

Picked up my new cat today. She is very friendly but nervous, climbing onto my lap for attention but retreating under the bed if I move away. But is currently sitting next to me grooming, which is a positive sign.

She's come with the name Arna, but that just makes me think of the car, so needs to be changed.

Girl cats demand attention...

This one has learned to creep up to my shoulders and sit there purring away, she likes being up high ( I am 6ft 5) able to see out of windows and the front door, though my wife just refers to her as daddy's little girl....

I managed to catch Nestle just after she woke from dozing this morning, so no teeth or claws for a while.

She is definitely getting bigger, which is good to see. Integration with our older cat is also good, both of them on the bed this morning asleep with no issues.
