One week on and Kana, as she is now known, is settling in fine. Loves getting head scratches and will most certainly let you know when it's feeding time.
Does still freeze at random things and has an odd and very dog-like habit of growling at the door when someone knocks on it, or next door pull up on the drive though. But that does lead to moments like this.
And a not so funny habit of sitting right on the edge of the litter box so it all goes on the floor.

Get a litter tray with a cover. Our Lily had exactly the same issue, lots of care turning round & round in the tray then bum hanging over the side 
Cover stopped that problem - and the litter being thrown all over the floor!
The unthinkable has happened.
All I know is - tonight our kitten started to make moves towards our resident cat. They have played, but when I say played I mean the kitten has been harassing the older cat and she has tolerated it but made it very clear she is in charge. This has been around 2 weeks that I have noticed - older cat doing the natural dominant thing.
Tonight the kitten seemed to take some time before approaching, and started to groom the older cat, particularly on her ears. Cola ( older ) made the usual grumble sound but allowed this to continue. What followed was around 3 mins of kitten grooming the older cat - grumbles subsided, and Cola seemed to realize she quite liked the experience.
That then very quickly developed into what is pictured below.
I never thought I would see this, let alone in a matter of weeks. Kitten is unusually bold, but this is amazing, Cola is 10 and very dominant / territorial. Kitten is just a chancer!
