This is Fergal. His face indicates some kind of mischievous undertone. winkhehe

He's our Neighbours cat and he's pretty much adopted us due to our regular supply of extra-mature cheddar...

Nail clippers? Is this something thats needed with cats? I cant imagine them enjoying it very much so cant be easy! biggrin
Haha not always required, no - but one of our cats doesn't seem to claw the fences/scratching post/scratch box very much and has incredibly long claws which end up wrecking clothes/carpet/furniture instead. My partner has a knack of doing it when she's distracted - He normally does one or two claws at a time over the course of a week until they're done.

My two foster neonates are doing good. Currently having a mad turn on my bed chasing each other. They’re still in quarantine (from other cats) but the black one (I think female but still yet to be named officially as these need to being with a ‘P’ and it’s proving hard) has developed an awesome skill for jumping. As a result as soon as the lid is lifted on their pen it’s up and out. Capturing a photo has resulted in this…

Which makes me smile.

I’ve got my first real feral coming in next week. One for the external cattery. A percentage of the colony will be caught and kept segregated for a few weeks running tests to gauge an idea of what we are tackling. Unfortunately not all ‘rescues’ have a happy ending frown
Cute!

Pantera?

No, not all; but if any of them can be, you’ll manage it - just don’t be heartbroken if you don’t; for some there’s no help frown

Pantera was on my list. I need to be sure on sexes before I can name them as it just doesn’t work for me otherwise. Also names need to be femine/masculine unfortunately (as opposed to non-binary) but it works better when it comes to advertising purposes for re-homing apparently.

Had a meeting with CPL colleagues tonight and now have food and litter supplies. Trapping is happening Monday night so feral will be in vets Tuesday and with me after work.

I now have enough supplies for Cat Apocalypse. Bring it on.

Haven’t managed to get the electrics done yet but a feral will be fine without heat. Something on the list for Autumn if funds allow.
Have also managed to acquire a large shed for the marina and working on a pen/run. If I’m away on the boat with other half I can take hand rears with me as have plenty of carriers.

Blimey was it this long ago I posted this?!?

He's still here clap he's been at the vets a few times though frown (heart failure, kidneys etc) last time his leg/foot ballooned due to fluid build up

He's always been happy and active though - good appetite despite losing 50% of weight

We are now injecting him twice daily and the swelling has gone completely - he's a fighter for sure!
Sadly we had to have him put to sleep today. His quality of life dropped and we had to think of him first.

fking brutal, toughest thing ive done seeing him pass

RIP Teoh - 14 years was a good innings for a Bengal

Sorry to hear that, RIP TEOH.
It is a terrible thing to have to do, even though you know it's the best thing for them. We had to lose Tiny last month, I can't believe how much it's affected me.

Good effort! By the time you get them all it must be time to start again! wink

Meet Willie and Wilson (names to be changed though)

Rescue cats that were apparently going to be put down today as nobody wanted them (I suspect this to be a rather poor lie created by my wife in order to win my consent).

Picking them up on Monday and they’ll join 2 older rescue cats. Jess who’s 9 and we’ve had since a kitten and Charlie who is probably 11 or 12 and we’ve had for about 4 years.

One of my conditions for adoption was that my wife deletes all rescue centers from her social media hehe

Cats should not really be given cheese, they are lactose intolerant.

I genuinely didn't know that! Our little moggie, Smokey, lived for 17 years with a daily sliver of cheese. Fergal gets the same amount but based on a little further research after your info we'll have a serious think. Cheers! thumbup

Cathedral City has a lactose free version, tastes exactly the same. Also Arla do a range of lactose free dairy products (cheese, milk, cream) all of which taste exactly the same as the "normal" varieties.
