That is cool Actually looks like it's enjoying itself, too. We had a one-eyed cat, but he couldn't surf. Not to my knowledge anyway. It was our fault, really; we moved from a quiet cul-de-sac in a village to a busy road in the town and within a couple of months we'd had two and a half of our cats run over. Norick was the half, in as much as he didn't die of it. But he was never the same afterwards, not just cos of losing an eye, he was just a bit mental. But then I suppose having someone run over your head would do thatA surfing moggy.

Hi folks, I've been enjoying the photos here (and in the dogs thread) for some time and, now that I have signed up, thought that I would share some of my own. Allow me to introduce Missy ...

This little scrap of skin and bone came into the Jerry household just over 7 years ago after being scooped up in the street by Mrs Jerry (her explanation being the guy behind would have run over it if she had not - which is unfortunately true in this part of the world). I'm ashamed to say that I was initially all for lobbing her back into the street and letting nature take it's course but, after a little debate, agreed that we'd keep her until she was fit and healthy enough to be rehomed (and this is why I only have 1 photo of her at this age, something I now deeply regret). Of course, it quickly became apparent that Mrs Jerry would be heartbroken if we did get rid of her (I may have still been calling her "it" at this stage) and I was starting to be captured by her spell (I think it was the waiting for me to get home and then purring so loudly that her whole body would vibrate).
So, we kept her and 6 months later she still hasn't grown into those ears ...
Another 12 months and she's now established herself as queen of all that she can observe ...
When I'm being kind I'll say she's an Arabian Mau but when I'm being honest then she's a semi-feral Dubai street moggy. She can flip between chocolate box cat and mental nutcase in the blink of an eye, is incredibly vocal, very territorial, doesn't like many humans other than her slaves and hates others cats ... But we love her.
I shall be posting many more photos of her going forward and they will all be better than that first one!

I once had a female tabby whose behaviour (and appearance at six months too) was exactly as you describe Missy. This one was bought for 12/6d in a pet shop in Wembley High Street in December 1968. She was the only one in the cage that didn't come to the bars when we looked at them, she sat stubbornly in the litter tray. Not only did she hate visitors in person, but she attacked their shoes when they were left by the door! My nephew was sitting on the sofa and Tani (the she-devil) strolled in, wandered over to him and promptly set upon his hand as it dangled over the edge. After a quick scratch and bite she strolled off - point duly made. "Bu88er off!"
Often she sat in the gulley where the waste pipe from our kitchen discharged and peek over the edge at the world. If a dog were to stroll by minding his own business she'd go to afterburners down the path and chase him away. It didn't matter what breed or size, they sensed something malevolent behind them and run like Hell!
We had her neutered and when we collected her after the op the vet was carrying the cage with her in it and he wore thick leather gloves while she tore at his hand through the wires. When our daughter was born Tani sensed that this human was off limits and kept away. Only when daughter was unwell would the cat take notice and then she sat on her bed, on the child's back while she slept. A truly split personality animal!

Motco, I recognise everything you describe. "She-devil" is an often used term to describe Missy. When she was a kitten we were conscious that we needed to play with her and expend her energy. Being novices, we didn't really know what to do so stuffed a sock with newspaper and tied it to a length of elastic ... She'd love (and still does love) chasing it and when she caught it would go into full attack mode. The sock clamped between her front claws, raking with her back claws and biting into it, quite impressive to watch. We have now learned not to sit around with just socks on our feet ... Visitors often get a bit of a surprise.
Here she is having a recharge moment ...

And Lo the Beast was reincarnated! Here she is having a recharge moment ...
This is my mate Blue
She was completely motivated by food and always wondered were her next meal was coming from.
When she had a belly full she would always be flat out, usually on my lap, while I caught up on TV.
Best of all she was the biggest flirt I've ever known, tummy rubs were her favorite. Note her flashing her white pubes!
Yesterday was the saddest day, she died all of a sudden at four and a half years old. It's been terrible. I know to some people they are only cats but me and Blue were inseparable, the best of mates. I'm not ashamed to admit I've been blubbing like a big girl since she left us.
The vet tells us it was a heart attack or blood clot that made its way somewhere it shouldn't have.
Her sister is totally stressed out by this so we are trying our best to fuss and help her though this stty time.
Wish I could have had a bit more time with her, I miss you mate.
