My Lottie was about 4.5 months when she started her first season, she is now 15 months old and on her 3rd!

I was going to get her done but basically her seasons have been in a close period of time and its only really now that I can see its around 4ish months between them.
Now I know this, i can get a date for her to be spayed as its usually 6 months between according to the vet smile

If there is 4 months between seasons I would expect the vet to suggest the mid point

Yes they should, six months is the average but nature varies so the guidelines can't be set in stone.

Have you someone who could look after Pesty?

Maybe even consider.........a kennel. There, I have said it
No

I couldn't send any of them in a kennel I would be too stressed.

We are trying to work something out Logan is already being a nightmare and I belive it gets worse.

I suppose we have two options. The other half goes for a two week holiday somewhere taking Jean.

Not really practical Logan would be alone all day and we have other issues at the moment.

Or
We take Logan and get him fixed.

Or god knows. Nobody mentioned this to me in the other thread where I asked about getting a second dog. It wouldn't be too bad but as mentioned it's just incredibly bad timing

I know you don't like the idea of a kennel, but what about a dog-sitter (where Logan could stay in their home with them)?

Getting Logan neutered probably wouldn't work for this season - it takes time for the testosterone to leave their system, it wouldn't be an overnight solution.

I believe there is a 'chemical castration' option but I have no idea how quickly that works. Bex may know, or you could ask your vet.

Sorry I can't offer much advice, all but one of my dogs has been neutered.

Unless you can guarantee to keep them apart it is surely too big a risk to keep them in the same house?

Could you do an outdoor kennel? Or keep him at a mate's?

Parents, friends ?

Kennels will be way less stressfull than what lies ahead, honestly.

I fully understand the stress of it all as we went through the exact same issue with Millie and Milo.

If I was local Id offer to help.....

Castration for Logan is too late this time around, it takes 6-8 weeks for them to become infertile.

Chemical castration may be an option but you need to chat to your vet. It wouldn't be a guarantee.

Tbh your breeder should have warned you about this when they realised you had an entire male dog and taking on a bh and your vets when you initially took Jean to them. I certainly assumed this otherwise I would probably have said something.

Many years ago when I was irresponsible I had a dog that used to escape and he sired a lot of families. One day, a rather irate owner complained about my dog mounting his bh. I retorted that it should have been on a lead. It was in his kitchen! I didn't have the heart to send him a stud fee.

I'll put £10.00 on a litter in the not to distant future

Put one into kennels, that was our simple solution. Worked very well.

Logan could get very stressed about all this, they sometimes stop eating as well, hopefully he won't but just so you are prepared!

The other thing to realise is once an entire male discovers his urges it does make them much more likely to seek out other females in heat (something he may not have done before this episode!).

Well one thing I'm sure of. He won't stop eating. He's not that kind of dog to get stressed I don't think but I'm keeping an eye on him.

Out on a walk he doesn't even notice she's there. Just does his own thing.
