Hi all,

I have odd issue with WiFi speed on Linksys WRT 3200 ACM.
Wired clients all get full download speed from ISP which is around 80mbps, however clients connected on WifI seems to be limited to around 40mbps.

I suspect it's something to do with Media Prioritisation and WMM Setting. I've turned Media Pioritisation completely off and have set WMM to ON. With this setting I get 40mbps. If I turn WMM off I get around 6mbps. This leads me to believe something is capping WiFi speeds.

I've tried "Reset Priritisation settings" and multiple reboots with latest firmware but looks like wifi speed stilll capped.
I'll try a factory reset soon however hoping someone can advise...

Are you testing performance sitting right next to the Access Point? Are you sure the WiFi adapter in the PC is capable of 80mb/s?

I'm sitting around 2m away but will try again closer. I'm using the Linksys as router/AP whilst BT Smart Hub as modem only at the modem.
The connection properties on my laptop is showing it as connected at 64Mbps.

I've actually also tested with WiFi straight from BT Smart Hub (HH6) and getting same results so probably it's my device wireless adapter then.

I'm pretty sure I've seen 60Mbps speeds on WiFi on this laptop before though so would probably need more time to troubleshoot.

The device I'm testing on only supports 2.4GHz. My MacBook Pro is on 5GHz but noticed roughly same speeds.

Well in the end I've returned the Linksys back to the shop. It's over 31 days but looks like I should be able to get the refund, just needed to send it back to HQ for testing first.

I've bought a £15 TP-link adaptor for my laptop and now I'm getting the full WiFi speed, all running off standard BT SMart Hub (HH6).
