Really nice story, well done for giving snoopy a happy home to retire to, shame he is losing his sight after spending his early years as a guide dog! Doesnt seem fair for the poor guy, but at least he can relax now and enjoy his retirement in the countryside.
The happy retirement home has not been given by us but redback911’s parents. We fostered him for three months, which was a pleasure to do.
Redback911 - Great photo. He looks so relaxed in that photo and that is just what we wanted for him. He took a while to relax with us but then he had just come out of service and we had two boisterous dogs for him to contend with.
It's not my dog, but my nans.
Meet Dylis the miniature dachshund (don't ask...my cousin named her!). I popped to see her a couple of weeks ago at the breeders and wanted to buy one myself! So cute.
She came home yesterday. Their other dog (no idea what it is!) isn't too keen on her and was glaring at her from the bed, but I'm sure they will get on. Cats...they are scared of her!
She likes to play for a few minutes and then go for a nap...shes like me!

Visited a family member at the weekend. Put the dogs into the back garden to let them do something before the drive back aaaand

hondafanatic, it must be a Frenchie thing to snooze like that - my lady friend's little rascal sleeps in just the same manner. Legs curled up like a little prawn, with his head hanging over the edge of the bed.
That is, when he's not snoozing on 'his' sofa or her bed!
Such adorable little dogs with an amazing character - if rather stubborn!

Nothing makes me happier than watching two dogs playing at full chat...."Are they always like that?"

Stubborn and moody. Freya has the patience of a saint. How she hasn’t eaten him yet I’ve no idea. That is, when he's not snoozing on 'his' sofa or her bed!

Bruno pouting because I won’t let him pinch Freya’s treat...he eats five times quicker than Freya so once he’s inhaled his treat he goes full on attack mode to get Freya’s unless I’m nearby.

Classic Frenchie! Rocco also inhales his food and im sure would also be straight into the next closest bowl if we had another dog!
We got him one of these to feed him with to slow him down a bit and keeps him busy for a while, could maybe try one to give Freya some time to finish her meal in peace

Action shot of him using it, he figured it out pretty quick actually, so hes not as stupid as he sometimes lets on when food is involved

Top tip thanks
There’s a pack of three different puzzles on amazon for only £26! Might keep him amused for long enough to allow Freya to chew some food

I haven't tried their other ones, but this one certainly works well. I got it off a recommendation from a friend who rescued a springer spaniel who also inhales her food, works really well and as only a few pieces of kibble fall out at a time, which he then runs around collecting, it lasts quite a while before hes finished, should be plenty of time for Freya
He also seems to be a leftie, he only ever shakes our hand with his left paw and also uses his left for knocking the food out of this
Took Rocco on a couple of trips last week as we had a bank holiday on the Wednesday so extended the weekend.
Went to Bratislava for a night and after some exploring went to a lake not far from our hotel within the city, unfortunately no beach but the water was nice and they had a cool wake board zipline course to watch (Those are the ramps in the background), Rocco isn't keen on water however so he didn't even want to get his feet wet!
He still enjoyed himself and met some other dogs there including a hyper little Frenchie and a chilled out older Great Dane!
Next day we went off to a huge manmade lake in Austria about an hour from Vienna to have a walk around it and go on a little electric boat, Rocco wasn't so keen on the dock and had to be carried down the steps to it, but then once in the boat he was fine.
He then slept all the way home in the car and all evening so he had a good day out
