three dayafter her spay Maple seems back to her normal self, obviously with us limiting what she does. Been impressed with the suitical recovery suit. She hasn't cared one bit about having to wear it, and standing nicely for it to be rolled up when needed.

Had the plaster off yesterday and it's benefit of keeping the wound clean is great. As well as stopping her trying to nibble the stitches. We showed her a cone in the vets and she was not impressed!

And a couple from her hols in Cornwall before the op.

That’s a perfect space for the dog crate, was that intentional or a happy accident? biggrin

Amazing how quickly dogs bounce back from surgery!

Indeed. Definitely feel that we need to hold her back. Otherwise she'd be her normal energetic self.

The crate fits very nicely in a slightly modified 1000mm pan drawer unit from b&q, with a 300mm cupboard alongside. Dog knob off eBay!. Oak top is the "offcut" from the breakfast bar! Once she no longer needs the crate, her bed will go in the space.

Yep. The crate will probably be gone within the next year, and the front will need some sort of front, or opening to keep it 'den-like' for her.

Great pic, good idea having it built in out the way, may try to do something similar when we move.

Our crate is just corner of the living room, next to fireplace with a view... But being beagle, she is barely there, she already learned how to open to lock/doors so we gave up just opened that crate and only goes there for breakfast and dinner hehe

She is usually in the kitchen now, better view and smell I guess!!

If I tried to take anything out of Sammy's mouth, I'd probably lose a finger or two! It seems that he wasn't taught "Drop it!" - or just chose to forget the idea, little rascal that he is!

Whilst we’re talking beds - I made this last weekend:

Saw very similar for sale by a Dutch company - I wasn’t going to pay the £200 they wanted. Mine ended up costing £30.

Hi chaps,

I took my naughty beagle to beach today (Camber Sands).. She loved it! first time swimming, but I realized she also drank some oceanwater!! frown I gave her loads of water later on, she is fine, super energy as usual but in the evening some of her poo was quite diarrhera. I read later on, some serious things with sea-salt poisonings, should I just rush to the vet tomorrow? she is sleeping now after a long day..

Jesus, I thought the beach would be the safest play to play but fekin hell, everywhere is like a minefield with dogs!

Just keep an eye on her, the worrying signs are muscle tremors, vomiting and seizures. Make sure your dog has drank plenty of fresh water and in future if you take her to the beach make sure you take fresh water with you on a hot day.

Logan has had a couple of explosive diarrhoea events about ten minutes after swimming in the sea.

We always take plenty of water.

No vet but if there are no other signs of illness loose stools is normal.

laugh

I would bet he knows what 'drop it' means, but chooses to ignore it! Typical stubborn frenchie! Rocco's sit command is hit or miss usually, unless he knows food is involved then it is 100%, very food driven! hehe

He often 'chews' on our fingers, has done it since he was a puppy, but not rough, almost like a pacifier and will sometimes fall asleep mid finger chew, probably not the best habit for him to have, but perhaps why he never tries to stop us removing things from his mouth if we need to go in and get it!
