We had to have one of our border collies put down a few weeks back. She was over 14 so had a good run, but still an incredibly sad time.
The 6 year old male she left behind hadn't known any different and he's really been pining for his departed mate.
We collected this little ball of fluff on Saturday and, I'm very pleased to say, the pair of them are already hitting it off
He looks like a bundle of fun. How did you find the first few days after introducing them? Any issues with the 6 year old and being his territory? The 6 year old male she left behind hadn't known any different and he's really been pining for his departed mate.

We probably did it in the wrong order - the puppy was taken home first, with the 6 year old coming back from a day out a little later.
In hindsight, the 6 year old should have been in his territory before we introduced the pup.
At first, there were a couple of snaps from the older one (no biting) - I think he was a bit put out with a strange dog being in his home.
24 hours on, and they're playing together very nicely. The turning point was taking them both out for a walk yesterday afternoon and throwing a ball around - the pup thought it was great fun trying to keep up with the older one.
They've been fine ever since.

Generally its a bit safer to introduce them in a neutral area, a nearby park or something. Get them tired out and then return home together. But with a pup its far less likely to be an issue We probably did it in the wrong order - the puppy was taken home first, with the 6 year old coming back from a day out a little later.

My mate that owns Bomber the Staff and Meg the Lurcher/Saluki x said they were on the lookout for a young/er hound to join them, as Bomber is starting to head into his later years.....
I was waiting for Staff puplet pics anytime soon....
THIS came over tonight. Dont know much about him yet, was named Levi but will possibly end up a Loki.....
A Battersea hound....Will add more details as they come over, he only arrived Sunday.
Looks stunning and I cant wait to meet him.

Sorry about the photo quality but this picture is scanned from a print found down the back of a radiator that we just removed from the wall (which is due to be knocked down for our new kitchen project).
The picture is of Fraggle mucking about in the garden with a neighbour's chocolate lab. It made me smile!
