We live on a cul-de-sac but there is a main road near. We walk down this road every day and the night he went missing.

Do the police care for such calls to 101?

Have you included any local Vets in the search. They sometimes get them handed in. Is the little monster chipped as well. We lost our old cat Felix for a while and the wife found him locked in a Garage. Luckily the Garage owner turned up and he followed her home, (Felix not the garage owner!!).

Yeah we have made the local and not so local vets know.
He is indeed microchipped, though whether that is working or not is another matter.
We have been around all of the local garages and cannot hear him, I am going to start knocking on doors.

Thanks Ali. We don't know what to do now. He's either trapped somewhere and keeping quiet, hurt, in a different area or being fed by someone else. Hopefully he will come home of his own accord as every time we go out he is no where to be seen.

I am genuinely gutted. I can't even look at a picture of him at the moment.

That's the worst thing isn't it, the not knowing. If we knew then at least we could do something about it.

Thanks Ali.

Thanks Gary. Been out again tonight but no joy. I'm close to sticking a flyer in every single letter box of every house in Aylesbury.

If it's any help then I feel for you too AngryDog.

Our cat (rescue, 16 years old, been with us for 12 of them) went missing for a week about 2 months ago. She's a home-cat and never strayed too far. She was just not there when we came back from a weekend away and reappeared on the doorstep a week later. (Accompanied by a bad case of fleas and - we think - worms, but that's another story). We had pretty much given her up for lost but were wrong.

I'm rooting for you. And your cat.

Thanks 2Btoo. I think we are gathering a search party to go looking this weekend.

Here is a pic of both of our cats in the same room at the same time. The tortie never goes too far thankfully. We have had her 2 years.

On the "not so nice" side of what could have happened, rather than the police contact local council, esp highways dept. When one of ours went missing a few years ago we tried everything, including highways dept. Learned that they keep a log of all pets "collected" from the roads, so whilst worst case it could also bring closure.

At the time our missing one hadn't yet been neutered and was "hanging out" a couple of miles away where there was a female in heat.

We didn't do fliers, but knocked on every door in the area and got folk to open sheds/garages for us to call for him/peer inside, 99% didn't mind. As we widened the net was amazed to find how far he was roaming (he's a bit more "unique" looking than yours being a grey Persian).

We eventually managed to snaffle him after 4 days of "being away".

Anyway, hope this has a happy ending for you.

Thanks Pinkie. We may go the council route next week if we have no joy. I am going to see if we can check peoples sheds etc, but obviously people may be suspicious of this and not let us, they may think we are eyeing up their possessions or something.

2 unconfirmed sightings in the same area in 19 hours. We missed one of them by 5 mins. Rage.

I'd be tempted to park up there with your cat carrier and just walk the area for half a day over the weekend. Have some leaflets and hand out to the passers by.

We are going up there again in a bit when it will hopefully be quieter.

Will do, though it's raining so don't want to get that stuff wet so it loses his scent.

No idea where he disappeared to after that. We stayed in the area for a while after and no more sightings.

It's pissing it down at the moment. Not sure if he will make an appearance but I'm still going to go out.
