Huge wasp or hornet attacking my window in the dark

Yes I think the downstairs light (whcih is quite bright) is reflecting off my bedroom window, which in turn is making the hornet bounce off it regularly.

I've had this light for a few years and never had this issue before though.

Suppose I could turn it off and see if that stops the hornet, but not an ideal solution as front of house is quite dark then!

Weird how Hornets are nocturnal......wonder why?

How about some of those Citronella candles or some of that jungle insect repellent on the window sill?
