We've currently got a problem with an animal crapping on our front lawn at night. This has now escalated to it doing it right on our front doorstep. It's a really soft stool so pretty sure it's not a cat or dog. We have recently seen a fox hanging around in the day so that's suspect number 1.

Also had sizeable muddy footprints on my Tuscan and next door's M3 suffered bonnet scratches after a nighttime walk by this animal, irking us both as both cars have been resprayed this year. Neighbour thinks that was our cat but the prints definitely happening at night when our cats are locked indoors and are bigger than cat paws. Our cats go out the front in the daytime so their scent will be there.

Any recommendations for stopping it (without firearms). My missus has had me pissing in a jug to spread over the area and that does work but it washes away in the rain and I don't want the front smelling like a public loo.

  • **apologies to mods over thread title, thought it would auto-censor like it does with content, please amend as I can't ****

Interesting revelation. Did she actively participate in this?

I like the "You Save: £230" bit, I'm sure someone has paid £300 for one of these biggrin Interested as to whether it's any good or not though as I'd also like to see the nocturnal goings on in my garden as something has been leaving smelly poos on the lawn which isn't something the local cat populus usually does, they seem to prefer the flower beds furious

Had holes in the cover and scratches in the paint from foxes attacking my car.
Transplanted a sizeable dog egg from the garden onto the driveway (beneath a bush). Hey presto, no more foxes.

I can try and get the dog to curl one out for you on Sunday. Bring a bucket!

Failing that, I've also heard that zoos sell dung for the same purpose... Not sure if chessington offer it

Yup, been looking at Lion Turd on Amazon, reviewers say it works or it doesn't !

Might get a few weird looks from the girls at hockey if we're swapping turds in the car park but thanks for the offer biggrin

Camera with infra red should solve a few debates.

If the neighbour's car has been scratched with just a cat walking over it then I'd have words with the spray painter.

Pretty certain that wasn't a cat, they only use their claws for climbing textured surfaces, they are retracted for walking on smooth surfaces. Canines claws are configured differently, more like toe nails.

Sorry, you did write that and I did not read properly.

If it is the fantastic Mr Fox there's not a lot you can do about it, unless you invite the local hunt around, but that will attracts all sorts of dreadlocked animal rights types who will probably vandalise your car while they're saving the fox.

Put up cctv to find out if human or beast.

Trying some Silent Roar lion dung extract, seems to be working for now and I know Mr Fox has been around the close of late.
