Got home this evening and wife told me her mum chucked washing into her dryer then switched it on. Half an hour later she went back to find her cat dead inside! Mother in law is understandably distraught.

My old man done this years ago, thankfully Pebbles survived with nothing more than dizziness and a new hair do.

My condolences to your ML.

Awful news. Sorry to hear it.

We are borderline paranoid with the Tumble dryer.

Yes, apparently it happens quite a lot.

She idolised that cat and being housebound it was her best friend and has now got to live with the fact shes accidently killed him. Hopefully it was over sooner rather than later, must have been awful for the poor sod.

Our kitten made me jump by hiding in it tumble dryer the other day, really gave me a knot in my stomach 'cos I wouldn't have thought of checking had he not savaged my hand.

God, how awful. A salutary warning.

Our old tom cat used to sleep in car engine bays (based on the amount of oil and crap he had on him all the time) Came home one morning with the skin shredded off his tail. I'm guessing he got caught in drive belts when a car started up. Yikes.

I am so very sorry to read this. Just an awful thing to happen. I've seen a few cases over the years. It tends to be inquisitive youngsters that get in trouble like this. Even a few mins in a dryer leaves them in quite a state, it is rare that they can recover if they are in for more than 20 mins. My heartfelt sympathy to your poor Mother in Law frown
