How many of you have FB pages for your pets? I decided to set one up so that for those of my friends who were interested in him could follow his journey through life and the rest of my friends didn't have to see all the pet posts on my own page.

Feel free to follow Byron here https://www.facebook.com/byronbluestaff and I am sure he will follow your pet pages as well smile

Yep, sadly did one too. Thought it made sense rather than bombard those who don't really care about pictures of my dog https://www.facebook.com/chewiethedogspage/

He's got more friends than me now...

I've no doubt its really sad but to be honest I take great pleasure in taking the pictures and I really enjoy documenting our time together, but don't want to bombard friends with the pictures so I set up the page to share them. Friends and others can then choose if they want to follow it, and they enjoy seeing the images too. I've also gained some free stuff from it already so win win really.

When I was selling specialist pet food online a few years back, I set up a page for my house rabbit, but it was nothing more than a marketing tool to promote the stuff I was selling at the time. There was also a fair few non-sales pictures of him doing daft things, but I tried to keep a balance of the type of posts of him enjoying some of the new products, sat on a stock delivery, or sleeping next to the pile of parcels ready for dispatch.

That said, he ended up with 5000+ followers, and the website sales tracking showed a lot of conversions coming from the page.

Well the page paid off the other night. I lost my dog in the forest. I've been walking him daily off the lead yet Monday night he shot off and I couldn't get him back. Put a post up on my page, within half an hour I had around 30 people in the same area looking for him and had him back within 90mins. Was incredible.
