We have lost 3 cats to road accidents, one after being shot with an air rifle and one who just never came home one night (probably the worst - we kept looking for him for over a year and following up possible sightings).....it's the risk you take letting them out, no matter where you live.

Sorry OP. It really is awful when things like this happen. We've had it twice in the past. Horrible.

I have come across a few cats that have been hit and killed by cars.

Personally I can't just drive by and leave it there so I will always check the local houses and if no success take it to the vets.

You would think in this day and age you would have to stop if you hit a cat but it seems to still not be a legal requirement.

Very sorry for your loss. frown
