All other specialists and Animal welfare organisations are working to get the Breed Specific Legislation (aka dangerous dogs act) modified so actual dangerous animals are dealt with, rather than, as currently, where a dog can be condemned because of how it looks.

Not the screwball fascists at PETA though, instead they want staffies banning.

Anyone that knows anything about staffies (that hasn't been published by the daily mail) knows how wrong this sentiment is. They are the most loving soft dogs going.

Not withstanding the tactics PETA use to further their goals (killing animals and dumping their bodies for example) they are loonies and cause more damage than good to animal welfare.

I know we have a lot of Staffy owners on here so can I ask you to sign this petition and if you really want to make a difference, write to your MP

https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/222419

ps. Trolls needn't comment. Thx

They want to take it a bit further than Staffies.

"And it’s not just pit bulls and Staffies. PETA is opposed to all dog breeding, and we support any legislation that stops this cruel and exploitative practice."

Nothing wrong with Staffies, lovely dogs, although I don't own one..

Some of the owners look more dangerous than the dogs

Can't we have a petition to get PETA banned?

Banning SBTs on grounds of being a danger to the public would be utterly absurd but is there a source for this?

I can't find anything that says PETA want to ban SBTs other than a single article on The Rebel Media which has no sources, but says it was part of a statement read to the committee looking at the Dangerous Dogs Act.

There's nothing about it on the PETA website or in their press releases.

PETA are extremist lunatics, do they really have enough credibility to be taken seriously?

I'm not sure if this legislation is the right one but to be honest I'm opposed to all uncontrolled dog breeding.

Something needs to be done to control dog ownership. Stopping people breeding there dog at home would be a good start.

I'm with him, this would be a good start, stop the scum/chavs/muppets from breeding the lovely little cute staffies from biting babies heads off.
